Strandhjem is seeking a social and health care assistant for a permanent position of 30 hours per week with start on December 1, 2026 or earlier.

The position includes day, evening and night shifts, and as a rule, work every 3rd weekend.

Strandhjem is not just a residential facility – it is a home.

Here live 16 adults with mental disorders who need support, safety and presence in a daily life where relationships mean everything. Many of our residents have lived at Strandhjem for most of their lives and several of our staff also have long experience here. That tells you something about the culture and the community we have.

We work from an environmental-therapeutic and holistic approach, where we see the whole person. We believe development occurs through trusting relationships, meaningful activities and a community where everyone has a place.

Our staff group consists of educators, pedagogical assistants, social- and health care assistants, 1 nurse, activity staff, 1 cook and technical service personnel. We work closely across professional boundaries because we know that the best solutions are created in collaboration.

What will your tasks be?

As part of the staff group you will be an important support in residents' daily life and a central partner in their development and well-being.

You will, among other things,

🧠 Actively participate in the environmental-therapeutic effort and create structure, safety and relationships.

🤝 Be a contact person for a number of residents and collaborate with relatives as well as external partners.

📋 Document and prepare status descriptions in Cura and Sensum Bosted.

💊 Manage medication within the competence area, including dispensing and intramuscular injections, etc.

👣 Support residents' psychological, physical and social development.

🎒 Participate in holidays, excursions and activities as well as the pedagogical meals.

🔄 Contribute across the house and help colleagues when everyday life calls for it – with us we pull together.

🎓 Contribute to creating a good learning environment for students

Who are you?

You are a trained social and health care assistant, and you have experience from psychiatry.

• Have experience with or an interest in social psychiatry and environmental-therapeutic work.
• Are good at building trusting relationships and meet people with respect, calm and curiosity.
• Can maintain an overview in a daily life where two days are rarely the same.

• Work independently, take responsibility and follow your tasks through to the end.
