Social- and health care helper apprentices for Foundation Course 2 starting January 2027

Frederiksberg Municipality is seeking engaged and skilled social and health care helper apprentices to start in Foundation Course 2 on January 25, 2027, with a subsequent main course on class H2706. If you have a full upper secondary education, the start date for Foundation Course 2 is April 22, 2027.

About the training

• The program lasts 1 year and 7 months (including Foundation Course 2)
• You switch between school and on-the-job training
• You will have a contact person during the school periods and a mentor/supervisor in the training periods
• In your training periods you work 37 hours per week in day, evening or weekend shifts as well as on Sundays and holidays
• You will receive an apprentice contract with Frederiksberg Municipality, and you will receive apprentice wages throughout the entire training.

School

In Frederiksberg Municipality we have a cooperation agreement with the Social and Health School at the Diakonissestiftelsen. This means that the theoretical part of the training takes place at the Diakonissestiftelsen — a smaller school with a long educational tradition. In the school periods you will receive teaching in small groups with fixed instructors. Students who have previously completed their education at the Diakonissen have chosen this precisely because of the close and supportive study environment.

On-the-job training

During the training, the on-the-job training periods will take place at Frederiksberg Municipality’s care centers/institutions/home care. At the training sites you will be met by dedicated supervisor teams with high professional standards.

Throughout your education you will have access to sparring and guidance from us at Frederiksberg Municipality. We focus on helping you navigate the training well and ensuring you a structured and safe educational process. We strive to ensure a good workplace culture where you as an apprentice feel valued and prioritized.

• Regular tutoring café
• Support via mentor/coach
• Good opportunities for employment after completing the education

Salary

Frederiksberg Municipality offers wages in accordance with the applicable collective agreement both in the school and on-the-job training periods.

Adult apprentice wage according to the Adult Apprenticeship Scheme

If you are 25 years old but do not have work experience qualifying you for adult apprentice wages under the collective agreement, you may possibly receive adult apprentice wages through the Adult Apprenticeship Scheme.

If you are unsure whether you can receive adult apprentice wages under the Adult Apprenticeship Scheme, you should contact your own municipality, which will help you determine whether you have the possibility of wages under the scheme.

If you are not qualified for adult apprentice wages under the collective agreement or the Adult Apprenticeship Scheme, Frederiksberg Municipality still has the possibility to offer you adult apprentice wages if you are 25 years or older and are offered an apprentice position.

To be employed as a social and health care helper apprentice, we place emphasis on you

• Are passionate about working and making a difference for elderly, sick and disabled residents
• Are good at talking to people and providing care to individuals with different needs
• Are willing to work with elderly, sick, mentally unstable and dying individuals
• Take responsibility for your own learning and are familiar with the duties that come with an employment relationship
• Are prepared to provide practical help and personal care
• Have good physical health and are willing to use transfer techniques, etc.
• Are responsible
• Can collaborate

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you

• Are prepared for rotating work hours and can start at 07:00
• Can ride a bicycle safely in traffic and use your own bike during the training periods
• Are a Danish citizen or have a valid residence and work permit.

Notification about interview, hiring or rejection

When we have received your application, you will receive an email confirming that the application has been received. Thereafter we will evaluate your application, and you will be notified with either a rejection or an invitation to a hiring interview.

If you are offered employment as an apprentice, Diakonissestiftelsen will have access to your application for the purpose of a recognition of prior learning assessment and possible credit. It is possible that we contact you with a requirement to send more documentation.
