About the job

Join a specialized and multidisciplinary team! Do you want to make a real difference for people with acquired brain injury? Do you want to work with rehabilitation at a specialized level, close interdisciplinary collaboration and a daily life where professionalism, structure and relationships go hand in hand? Then it might be you we’re looking for.

Be part of an important professional journey

We are looking for social and health care assistants for permanent positions in specialized level rehabilitation physically located in Herning on Bytoften. The positions are available for occupancy from January 1, 2027 or as agreed.

We are in the middle of an exciting development. According to the Health Reform, the specialized area is transferred from the municipality to the region as of January 1, 2027. This means you will become part of an organization in change – with the opportunity to influence your professional field, contribute to the development of specialized neurorehabilitation and be part of an important journey for both citizens, employees and partners.

Who are we?

We work with citizens after discharge from hospital, where the duration of the stay depends on the individual citizen’s development potential – typically a trajectory of three months. In rehabilitation, we work towards the individual citizen becoming active and participating in their future life based on their own resources, wishes and needs, and in close collaboration with relatives.

What sets us apart from many other workplaces is our longer patient journeys. We become part of citizens’ lives over weeks and months, giving us the opportunity to work deeply and holistically – not only with the injury but with the whole person and the life the citizen will return to.

You will become part of a dynamic, engaged and multidisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, social and health care assistants, neuropsychologist, speech therapist and chief physician. We work targeted and specialized with rehabilitation plans for the individual citizen.

The position and your tasks

These are permanent full-time positions. You will join a shift system, as the unit is staffed around the clock. The work includes shifts at different times of the day and weekend work. We run two shift teams and have the possibility for individual considerations, as we work with preference plans. The concrete scope will be agreed on closer and planned in the shift schedule.

You can expect the following tasks

  • Specialized neurorehabilitation nursing care and support a rehabilitative approach in daily work with the citizens.
  • Cooperation with citizens, relatives, doctors, hospitals and municipal partners.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary rehabilitation plans and targeted interventions.
  • Documentation, status descriptions and professional communication.

About you

We are looking for someone who

  • Is professionally engaged, curious and wants to work with people with acquired brain injury and complex issues in a rehabilitative daily life.
  • Is interested in, and preferably has experience with, neurorehabilitation and complex pathways.
  • Sees neuro-pedagogical strategies as a natural part of the task.
  • Has good collaboration skills, thrives in teamwork, seeks sparring and values multidisciplinary cooperation.
  • Is proactive and capable of planning and prioritizing your own tasks independently.
  • Communicates and conveys clearly both verbally and in writing and thrives in collaboration with citizens and relatives.
  • Moves effortlessly between mon-disciplinary and multidisciplinary tasks, even when everyday life requires quick shifts. At the same time, actively contributes to a good working environment together with your multidisciplinary colleagues.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license, but not a requirement, as rehabilitation for some citizens may also take place in the citizen’s own home.

What can you expect?

With us you step into a workplace where professionalism and human closeness go hand in hand. We offer:

  • A close multidisciplinary collaboration with the citizen at the center and the opportunity to closely follow the citizen’s development.
  • A thorough introductory program with professional guidance, supervision and competence development in relevant tasks.
  • A varied daily life with professional challenges and a focus on quality and evidence-based practice.
  • A good working environment with psychological safety, engaged colleagues, good mood and room for communal activities.

Do you want to help set the standard for specialized neurorehabilitation? We look forward to hearing from you.
