Ungehjemmet Bifrost is located on Brandevej in Aalborg East and forms the framework for an integrated, cross-sectoral effort, where the collaboration between the services and Aalborg University Hospital – psychiatry area is closely coordinated.

The target group is typically intelligent youths aged 14–22 years with severe self-harming behavior – often with comorbidity. When acute treatment or admission is required, this takes place in close collaboration with Aalborg University Hospital – psychiatry area.

The professional foundation is mentalization-based milieu therapy (MBMT) with relational work as the sustaining element. In addition, the work systematically with Low Arousal 2 (LA2) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). The offering is established in accordance with the Children's Act § 43, subsection 1, no. 6 and subsection 3 as well as the Social Services Act § 107 and based on the Danish Quality Model.

We are looking for you, who is a professionally strong and experienced social and healthcare assistant and preferably have insight into working with youths with severe self-harming behavior. You thrive in a specialized environment, meet youths, relatives and collaboration partners professionally and positively, and see both professional and personal development as a natural part of the job.

You have strong relational and mentalizing abilities, can maintain calm and overview in acute situations and work with commitment and loyalty with the shared professional approaches and methods, which you translate into practice. You motivate and involve the youths in the treatment process and support their self-determination and participation in a way that their hopes and dreams are expressed.

You have as a social and healthcare assistant at Ungehjemmet Bifrost a special responsibility for providing and inspiring holistic care and support to the youths with a focus on both physical and psychological well-being in accordance with the 12 health care problem areas. In addition, ensure that the health care assessment is in accordance with the instructions.

Your specific tasks will include

• To perform practice-based health care interventions and translate plans into concrete daily actions
• To observe, document and respond to early signs of self-harm, including contributing to de-escalation and prevention through presence and professional tools
• To document professional observations focusing on the connection between somatics, psyche and behavior
• To assist in updating local health care instructions and procedures
• To train non-healthcare staff in medication handling, hygienic principles, dispensing PRN to specific youths and documentation thereof
• To update the medical schedule from FMK, manage medication dosing and evaluation, and create over-the-counter medication in the journals system

Your tasks will also include planning and carrying out individual treatment interventions based on the municipality’s order. In a multidisciplinary environment where we support each other, you will be a contact person for a number of youths and work closely with your colleagues in the contact team and the other pedagogical staff and leadership. We expect you to work both day and evening shifts, arranged in a way that enables you to fulfill your special tasks. You have weekend work every other weekend.

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement for social and health personnel entered into with FOA.

The position is basically 37 hours per week.

The process

• Prior to the interview, a case will be sent which must be prepared and presented at the interview
