About the job

Would you like to help educate the social workers of the future on our online-based education and be a frontrunner in the development of both a new educational offering and a strengthened social work education?

At the Institute for Social Work Education at Copenhagen Metropolitan University College (KP) we are seeking engaged adjuncts or lecturers with a strong social-professional profile who want to help shape the social work education of the future, and who are passionate about teaching, development and research – and about making a difference in collaboration with both students and the practice field.

We are in the midst of an exciting transformation. The education reform calls for rethinking our learning forms, a clearer professional progression for students, and an even closer link to the practice field. Therefore, we are looking for engaged colleagues who want to help shape the social work education of the future, and who are keen to make a real difference for our students.

About the job

Since August 2026 we have offered students the opportunity to study to become a social worker through our online-based education, which allows for full-time study without the need for daily on-campus attendance. In the online program, our students receive instruction through various learning paths and asynchronous learning activities in a digital learning environment, just as there is physical teaching on campus 7 days per semester distributed on Fridays and Saturdays.

As the program is offered with physical teaching invitations at both Campus Carlsberg and Campus Bornholm, there will be an expectation of a smaller number of travel days per semester, as well as an expectation of work days in a scope of 4-6 days per year. As a teacher on the online program, there is similarly a high degree of flexibility in planning of work time, and the possibility to work from home.

You will be part of a committed and interdisciplinary team consisting of teachers with backgrounds in social work, law, psychology and social sciences. Our primary tasks include the development and delivery of teaching, supervision and examination. An important task on the online program is to translate the new social work education into different asynchronous online formats.

In the job you will, among other things

  • Teach and supervise students and contribute to their academic and personal development
  • Develop and test teaching methods, e.g. focusing on feedback, differentiated teaching and workshop-based instruction that strengthens learning
  • Develop learning paths and asynchronous learning objects
  • Follow up on students' well-being and learning and be available online for questions and sparring according to a fixed weekly schedule
  • Participate in research and development projects that are closely connected to practice and have significance for both the education and social work
  • Contribute to further and continuing education, including diploma programs and practice-oriented courses aimed at professionals
  • Engage in close collegial collaboration in teaching teams and across the organization

About you

We are seeking two adjuncts or lecturers with solid experience from the social sector – preferably with experience from municipal work with families, children and youth, vulnerable adults or employment. You have a basic education as a social worker combined with a relevant academic postgraduate degree – e.g. cand.soc., cand.soc.jur., cand.pæd.psyk. or a master's program within the social field.

In addition, you can tick several of the following competencies

  • Have solid practical experience from the social sector and a strong understanding of the profession's conditions and complexity
  • Have teaching experience and/or are skilled at conveying professional knowledge in an engaging and accessible way
  • Have particular legal insight, interest and experience
  • Have a desire and courage to develop asynchronous learning objects through different digital platforms and preferably experience with this
  • Are good at creating contact and relationships with our students and engage in their academic development
  • Wish to contribute to research and development in close interaction with the practice field
  • Are structured and flexible with the ability to plan and prioritize in a busy and sometimes unpredictable everyday life

We also welcome that you have knowledge of the framework for professional educations and are motivated to contribute to an education in rapid development.

About us

The Social Work Education at KP is a large and dynamic educational environment with high professionalism, strong collegiality and close contact with practice. We focus on increasing study intensity, differentiated teaching and profession-oriented learning – and we work systematically to adapt our teaching and organization to the new education.

The Institute for Social Work Education houses a strong and well-established research and development environment with a focus on practice-oriented and profession-oriented projects relevant to both the education and the social practice field.

With us you get

  • A thorough onboarding and mentor program that ensures a good start in the role as a teacher
  • Opportunity to develop your teaching skills, including through a lecturer qualification program
  • Access to a well-established research and development environment with strong ties to practice
  • An engaged and supportive collegial community with professional sparring in teams

We have a view over the city with Carlsberg Station and other good transport options nearby.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed as an adjunct or lecturer with start on December 1, 2026. The working time is 37 hours per week.

Employment is according to the applicable collective agreement in the state sector and based on Executive Order no. 414 of April 27, 2025 on the job structure for teachers at business academies, university colleges, etc. The specific collective agreement depends on your educational background and will as a rule be according to either the Academic Staff Agreement or the Common Agreement for LC and CO10. There will be an opportunity to negotiate qualification allowances.

If you are employed as an adjunct, you will join KP's lecturer qualification program.

Being employed as a lecturer requires a positive lecturer assessment under the regulation on lecturer qualification, cf. Executive Order no. 413 of April 27, 2025.

When employed as a lecturer, prior to the 2013 position structure, employment generally takes place at the previously centrally fixed salary and employment terms.
