About the job
Do you want to make a difference for mentally vulnerable young people and their families – and help create continuity in some of their most vulnerable transitions?
Are you keen to use your social work expertise and experience from the municipal authority area to ensure good cross-sector transitions for young people and families in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center (BUC)?
And are you also interested in working with admitted young people aged 13-17?
Then it might be you we are looking for.
We are seeking a social worker for a parental leave cover at our open 24-hour ward for adolescents, B103, with start date on 1 January 2027.
Employment period
The position is a parental leave cover with employment from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027 .
The ward is geographically located on our main site at Bispebjerg, Bispebjerg Bakke 30, entrance 16C, ground floor.
About the ward
B103 is an open 24-hour ward with room for eight youths aged 13-17. The target group is young people in severe distress who are admitted for observation, assessment and treatment for psychiatric disorders such as mood disorders, psychoses, personality disorders, severe OCD, pervasive developmental disorders, or ADHD.
Treatment is based on milieu-therapeutic principles and close family involvement. As a social worker, you will play an important role in creating coherence between the psychiatric treatment and the young person’s life outside the hospital.
Your role
As a social worker you will become the ward’s specialist in social work and cross-sector collaboration. You contribute with your knowledge of social legislation and municipal interventions in daily work, at multidisciplinary conferences and through sparring and training of your colleagues.
You will work closely with a wide range of multidisciplinary colleagues, including doctors, psychologists, nurses, social educators, occupational therapists, social- and health care assistants, physiotherapists and school teachers.
At the same time you become part of a strong monofacultyl social worker group of 40 social workers, where there are good opportunities for professional sparring, knowledge sharing and development.
Your tasks
Your tasks will include
- Coordinating the collaboration with the social administration, PPR (Psychoeducational Programme Resource), UU-guidance counselors, and other relevant partners.
- Coordinating the cooperation with 24-hour institutions and placement sites when the young person is placed.
- Contributing to the preparation of notifications and declarations to social authorities in collaboration with among others doctors and psychologists.
- Guiding youths and parents on social work questions, rights and available support.
- Contributing the social-work perspective to multidisciplinary conferences.
- Participating in and acting as chair or secretary at network meetings.
- Having dialogue with municipal caseworkers to coordinate actions around the young person.
You will have a broad range of tasks that require you to move between close multidisciplinary collaboration and independent social-work tasks.
A workday could for example involve in the morning contributing the social-work perspective at a multidisciplinary conference, subsequently holding a network meeting with the municipality and a placement institution, and later in the day preparing a notification or advising a parent about the cooperation with the municipality.
Common to the tasks is that you draw on your experience from municipal government work while building and applying your knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatry.
We offer
With us you get an exciting and meaningful job where you play a central role in creating coherence between the young person, the family, child and adolescent psychiatry and the municipality.
You will become part of a professionally strong environment where the social worker’s perspective is valued, and where you have the opportunity to make a concrete difference for young people and families in complex life situations.
One of your upcoming social worker colleagues says
”The best thing about working as a social worker at BUC is the opportunity to help vulnerable families create an overview and navigate in complex situations. At the same time, you play an important role in coordinating a holistic and multidisciplinary effort that promotes well-being and development. Through the multidisciplinary collaboration there are good opportunities for professional development, and you constantly learn something new.”
In addition we offer
- A challenging, educational and meaningful job.
- Professional sparring and supervision with the center’s other social workers.
- Close monofaculty sparring in the introductory period and thereafter as needed.
- A strong monofaculty community with 40 social workers.
- Close multidisciplinary collaboration with engaged colleagues from many different professional groups.
- Opportunities to develop your competencies in both social work and child- and adolescent psychiatry.
- A 37-hour work week with no evening or weekend work.
We expect that you
- Are a trained social worker or social educator (mandatory requirement).
- Have practical experience with authority work in the child and youth sector.
- Have good collaborative skills and thrive with both multidisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.
- Can communicate clearly and respectfully – both verbally and in writing.
- Can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks.
- Have professional self-confidence and dare to actively apply your social-work skills.
- Are responsive to the needs of the young person, the family, and the ward while also being proactive about where your social-work skills can make a difference.
It is an advantage if you have experience from child and adolescent psychiatry and/or adult psychiatry, but it is not a requirement.
Salary and employment conditions
The position is 37 hours per week and is temporary for the period from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027 .
There is no evening or weekend work.
As a social worker you are employed in accordance with the Danish Collective Agreement for Social Workers - 32.32.1
As a social educator you are employed in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Administration and IT staff, etc. 32.01.1
In accordance with legal requirements, if employed at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center, a clean criminal record check must be shown. The center will obtain the attestation from the National Police with consent from the applicant who is being considered for employment.
