About the job

The Family Department in Gladsaxe Municipality is seeking a child and youth advisor for a permanent position of 37 hours per week in our intake, where the target group is children and youths aged 0-16 years.

The intake is the citizen's first contact with the Family Department, and here we receive all first-time inquiries and notifications. As a child- and youth advisor in the Intake, you will be part of a team of seven child- and youth advisors and a student assistant, and you will have a daily routine with many different tasks, where your workday is rarely planned in advance.

You will be part of a team where we create and assess notifications and act in urgent notifications, particularly cases with concern for violence and abuse.

In addition, we provide advice and guidance to families and partners as well as participate in the early preventive work around preschool children.

Your primary tasks in the Intake are

  • Create and assess all notifications within 24 hours.
  • Act on urgent inquiries and cases, handled in accordance with the abuse package.
  • Provide party hearings in connection with notifications in unknown/new cases.
  • Provide advice and guidance to families and partners.
  • Provide advice and guidance to heads of child houses.
  • Participate in preventive network meetings in our child houses.
  • Manage defined, preventive processes with families.
  • Be curious and build collaborations with external partners.

We are a family department that is proud to have many stable, professionally skilled and experienced advisers. We emphasize that in a busy daily life there is room both to be social and to show care for one another. The Family Department is also a workplace with space to develop professionally and personally, and there is a high level of well-being among staff and managers.

We place importance on ensuring that you, as our new colleague, get as good a start as possible, and therefore we plan an onboarding program for you as a new employee, which is based on your level of experience.

Collaboration with our families is central. Therefore we use the method FIT (Feedback Informed Treatment) in all our meetings, network meetings and conversations with families, children and youths. FIT helps ensure that the conversations we have, and what we initiate, are actually helpful for our families, and that we can monitor progress. Here, you can, in a Social Talk, see one of our advisers explain the importance of using FIT in authority work: Access video here

The department currently consists of about 70 child- and youth advisors. As an employee of the Family Department, you will be part of the municipality's overall effort for children, youths and their families. The Family Department is organizationally under Family and Advisory Services and is anchored in the Department of Children and Culture.

About you

We imagine that you are trained as a social worker or social educator, very preferably with experience from authority work with vulnerable children and families.

We emphasize that you

  • are proactive, responsible, and have a special interest and commitment within the child area.
  • have good collaboration skills and experience with interdisciplinary cooperation.
  • work in a structured way in a busy daily life, where there are high demands for independence, coordination, engagement and flexibility.
  • have solid knowledge of the framework of Child Act and the Administration Act.
  • are skilled at communicating both orally and in writing.
  • can handle fluctuating workloads and can ask for help in sufficiently good time so that your colleagues and management have the opportunity to support you.

What we can offer you

  • an exciting job with engaged and professionally skilled colleagues.
  • a working environment with an informal tone, where we emphasize cooperation, development and professional sparring.
  • ongoing external supervision.
  • flexible working hours.
  • freedom with responsibility.
  • great trust in social workers' and social educators' professional assessments.
  • thorough training, introduction, teaching and supervision in FIT.
