Social workers for Special Authority and Prevention at the Center for Children and Learning

The Authority Department in the Center for Children and Learning has since the implementation of the Children’s Act followed an exciting development process with a strong focus on implementing the new legislation as well as early preventive work.

We are now seeking a advisor for a permanent 37-hour position and an advisor for a parental leave replacement in special authority with start as soon as possible.

A model has been developed and implemented, where your tasks as authority advisor are composed in a new way, giving variation and professional breadth in daily life. The majority of the week you work with authority tasks in special authority in the disability compensating area, while you are once a week attached to a school or a day care as day care and school social worker.

In the consultative function you provide advice, sparring and guidance to professionals and participate in advisory conversations with children, youth and their families. The position thus gives you the opportunity to work both with authority-related tasks and preventive – close to practice.

As child – and youth advisor in Special Authority your tasks are varied. You must hold conversations with children and parents. You must prepare disclosures, child-related assessments and target group assessments. You must make decisions about lost earnings, disability compensating benefits, substitution and care and treatment. In addition you participate in interdisciplinary meetings on behalf of the department and initiate interventions under the Children’s Act. The position entails a high degree of textual work.

In special authority we make decisions that have great significance for children and young people with disabilities and their families. We work holistic, dialogue-based and with high legal quality, where the child and family’s legal certainty is in focus.

The target group for special authority is 0-18 years, while the rest of the department works with the target group 0-15 years.

We work systematically with the Children’s Act and offer ongoing professional upskilling through theme days, learning rooms and close sparring with legal consultants and management. You will therefore as a advisor in the department have ample opportunity to test and develop your professional and personal skills - both when it comes to ordinary authority tasks as well as preventive and interdisciplinary work.

There is in Stevns Municipality a strong focus on cross-disciplinary collaboration, and there is generally a good knowledge of the different professionalities and departments in the municipality. With the cross-disciplinary model the vision is to further strengthen focus on cross-disciplinary and preventive work, where you as an advisor will play a decisive and important role for children, youth and their families who need support and holistic solutions.

About the department

The department is in four advisor groups, that sit with authority tasks. Two advisor groups that work with social cases, one advisor group that works with authority tasks in the disability compensating area and a duty team that among other things works with acute tasks and first contact. We are a department with very engaged and ambitious staff, which is broadly composed of both new and experienced advisors as well as other professional groups. We also have in the department three professional leaders, a foster care consultant, a lawyer and one digitalization consultant.
