About the job

Center for Mastery and Employment seeks as of January 1, 2027 a full-time employee for our Mastery Advisor team, who supports citizens with developmental disabilities.

You will become part of a dedicated team of 12 employees, providing social-pedagogical support under the Social Services Act § 85 to citizens with developmental disabilities, mental vulnerability and social challenges.

The citizens live in their own homes and the support primarily takes place at home. We support citizens in the entire Aarhus Municipality. Working hours are on weekdays during daytime, but evening work may occur in special cases.

We work from a recovery-oriented approach, where the citizen's own resources, wishes and goals are the focal point of the intervention. Through individually tailored support we support the individual citizen's possibility to live as independently and meaningfully a life as possible.

We work from the principle of help to self-help with a focus on strengthening the citizen's coping ability, self-determination and active participation in their own life.

Your tasks will include among others

  • Support with handling mail, finances and contact with authorities and the health care system.
  • Support to establish and maintain social relations and participation in communities.
  • Support to structure daily life and planning of activities.
  • Training and development of practical and personal skills.
  • Motivation and support to create and maintain appropriate routines.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Has a social education basic training, e.g. pedagogue, social worker, social and health assistant, nurse or occupational therapist.
  • Has experience working with people with developmental disabilities, mental vulnerability and social challenges.
  • Is curious about professional development and learning and actively contributes with knowledge, experiences and reflections.
  • Is conscious of one's own professional and personal stance and can reflect on one's own practice.
  • Can translate professional knowledge and experience into a qualified and individually tailored intervention.
  • Works in a structured, systematic and methodical way in task solving.
  • Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and actively participates in professional discussions with colleagues and partners.
  • Takes responsibility for own tasks, decisions and follow-up on efforts.
  • Is strong in reflective and perspective-changing dialogue and contributes to learning and professional development.
  • Has good written skills and can produce relevant and targeted professional documentation.
  • Is flexible, tolerant and able to set clear and professional boundaries.
  • Contributes positively to a strong professional community characterized by collaboration, sparring and knowledge sharing.
