About the job

Staff member for social-pedagogical residential support Team 5

Team 5 is a §85 social-pedagogical support offer that provides support and guidance to 56 citizens with complex issues in their own homes. We are looking for an experienced social-pedagogue who wants to be part of a fantastic team. Do you want to join?

Team 5 is recruiting as of 1.12.26 or as soon as possible for a staff member with an educational background in pedagogy. The position is 37 hours per week with variable working hours.

About us

Team 5 is a §85 (social-pedagogical) support offer that provides support and guidance to currently 56 adult citizens in their own homes across Odense Municipality.

The target group is predominantly citizens with reduced mental functioning. The target group has a medium to high need for support and has often previously been supported in other ways. Citizens often have other developmental disorders, related mental illnesses, substance use challenges, or particular social problems in combination with reduced cognitive abilities.

The support is based on a rehabilitative approach, focusing on developing the citizen's self-management and independence. This includes developing and supporting the citizen’s personal skills and resources, as well as compensating for skill losses and counteracting social exclusion/isolation.

The support can have a preventive aim to avoid the citizen's situation from deteriorating, or to avoid a more intrusive support offer.

The support can be provided in the citizen’s home, - by attendance at premises on Rømersvej and by telephone contact to/from the citizen. The support is primarily provided individually for each citizen. There are also accompaniment tasks in the job.

The team consists of 7 staff with extensive experience. The team has a good sense of camaraderie, and we place a high value on social togetherness. The team receives systematic supervision, and the work environment is given high priority. The work is organized according to the citizens' support needs: evening work, weekend work every 7th weekend is expected for the citizen.

Team 5 is part of a larger organization under home guidance and support centers: We have 6 support centers, §107 offers, and the home guidance team. The whole organization consists of 55 employees, where we collectively support 420 citizens in their daily lives.

The position is also a hybrid role: It is expected that the person can handle tasks across the organization occasionally if there is an acute need elsewhere in the organization.

About the job

The tasks are varied and cover, among other things

  • Support in planning a manageable everyday life for the citizen
  • Support to engage in, maintain or develop the citizen's social relationships and network (e.g., family, friends, interest groups, etc.)

  • Supportive conversations, support and guidance in everyday life, guidance on leisure activities, housing and employment possibilities as well as preventive health measures
  • Support/guidance/interpretation/accompaniment in relation to the surrounding community
  • Collaboration with other public authorities around the citizen. Including home care, Children and Youth Administration, Social and Employment Administration, doctors and other health systems

About you

  • Has a social-pedagogical education and experience, and preferably specific experience with citizens who need alternative approaches
  • Has the ability and experience/desire to work independently in the citizens' homes.
  • Is trustworthy and appreciative in the fundamental relation to both citizens and colleagues
  • Familiar with nexus – and good administrative competencies
