Social worker for a permanent position in the Youth Team

The position is to be filled on December 1, 2026 and is 37 hours per week.

Who are we?

In the Youth Team you will join a team of 15 social workers, to whom a social-educational consultant and an office manager are attached. We are divided into two teams, where we meet every Wednesday for a team meeting, and it is also the team that has external supervision together. All youth workers are based in downtown Aabenraa.

In the Youth Team we work with children and youths and their families from ages 13-23, and we are part of the municipal youth initiative in Aabenraa Municipality.

We all work from a coherent policy for children, families and youths, called "Together for the good life of children, youths, and families." We are focused on creating changes for the families we work with through close follow-up and focus on effective interventions. About you

We expect you to be professionally

• trained as a social worker or social educator
• have experience with or interest in the field of children and youths
• have experience with authority tasks
• have experience with or willingness to acquire the ICS method and professional systems such as DUBU
• have experience with or willingness to handle alerts, prepare child-focused investigations and action plans as well as follow up and conclude processes
• be good at communicating both verbally and in writing.

• are able to build good relations with the children/youths and their families and collaborators
• can work independently and in teams and wish to participate in multidisciplinary collaborations
• can manage having many balls in the air in a often unpredictable everyday life and remain calm in stressful situations
• are flexible and able to help colleagues in urgent need.
• have a driving licence

Your tasks

You will, among other things, have the task of

• assessing alerts
• interviewing parents and youths
• carrying out mapping and child-focused investigations
• holding child interviews
• following up on the initiatives that have been launched
• collaborating with your colleagues on special cases
• participating in professional discussions both at sparring meetings and at joint events
• contributing to the professional and collegial community.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to agreement with the Danish Association of Social Workers. All advisors are awarded a fixed allowance of DKK 12,000 annually (31.3.00 level).

The position is 37 hours per week.

Employment commencing on 1 December 2026

Prior to employment, child and criminal records checks are obtained, and the employment will be conditional on their satisfactory result.
