About the job

Can you create direction, bring people together around common solutions and translate strategy into practice?

The Municipality of Billund is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation. The Health Reform and the Elderly Reform change the framework for our tasks, collaborations and the way we deliver welfare. At the same time, we must handle rising quality requirements, more elderly citizens and a tight labor market.

This creates an exciting management space with the opportunity to set direction and make a real difference for the citizens.

In the Municipality of Billund we are therefore seeking a deputy head who, together with the Director of Elderly and Health, will lead the continued development of the Elderly and Health area.

As deputy head you will play a central role in ensuring that political ambitions, reforms and professional goals are translated into concrete solutions that create value for citizens, relatives and employees.

You will become a central strategic key person, the nearest sparring partner for the Director of Elderly and Health and will function as acting in relevant contexts.

A central role in the development of Elderly and Health

As deputy head you will have broad strategic and organizational responsibility.

You will contribute to creating coherence between operations, quality, development and cross-cutting collaborations, while supporting the leaders in succeeding with the core task close to the citizens.

You will become an active participant in the development of the health professional quality across the Adult area and will play an important role in collaboration across disciplines, authorities and sectors. At the same time you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of national reforms, new quality requirements and our own organizational development initiatives.

You will among other things lead the implementation of the upcoming national dementia action plan and together with the leader of the dementia area contribute to developing the dementia area so that high professional quality and cohesive pathways for people with dementia and their relatives are ensured.

You will become part of the Elderly and Health Area

You will spend your daily life at the town hall in Grindsted, where the Director of Elderly and Health, the Director of Disability and Psychiatry and the Adult and Health Administration also have their daily base, but you will also be visible with our leaders both in the Elderly and Health Area and the Disability and Psychiatry Area.

You will become part of the management team in the Elderly and Health Area with 12 operations managers, and you will have a close collaboration with leaders, specialists and staff functions across the entire Adult area. We work from a fundamental ambition to create quality, coherence and value for the citizens through strong collaboration, high professionalism and shared responsibility – and we also have fun when we go to work.

A job at the crossroads of quality, operations and development

As deputy head you must ensure that new requirements, decisions and development initiatives are translated into practice in the organization. You will have a special responsibility to strengthen health-related quality across the area in close collaboration with our leaders, our development nurse and nursing professional consultant.

An important part of the role will also be to strengthen cooperation with hospitals, general practice and other partners so that citizens experience coherent and safe pathways. With the Health Reform and Billund Municipality's cross-council cooperation it will be crucial to create strong relationships and joint solutions across sectors and geographies.

In addition you will support our leaders in complex citizen pathways and in relative collaborations when the situations require it.

Your main areas of responsibility will be

  • drive the implementation of reforms, development initiatives and strategic initiatives across the Elderly and Health Area.
  • support high health professional quality and a common direction in the organization.
  • contribute to the development of competencies, learning pathways and professional standards across employee groups.
  • coordinate cross-sector collaboration with hospitals, general practice and other partners.
  • support leaders in complex organizational and citizen-related issues.
  • prepare analyses, proposals, memos and decision bases.
  • serve as deputy for the Director of Elderly and Health.

What will be your first tasks?

In the initial period you will, among other things, have responsibility for

  • support the implementation of central elements of the Health Reform and the Elderly Reform.
  • ensure direction and coherence in the health-related area with a focus on quality and patient safety.
  • develop and implement a strategy for handling adverse events and organizational learning.
  • implement a new procedure and competence system and support anchoring in the organization.
  • contribute to the ongoing development of the management team together with the Director of Elderly and Health.
  • strengthen work with citizen and relative collaboration.

After the first year we expect that you have contributed to significant progress in implementing the reforms, strengthened health-related quality and supported closer collaboration across the organization and with external partners.

You create results through collaboration and professionalism

To be the right fit for the task, we imagine that you

  • are a trained nurse and have a relevant further education in leadership, project management, process management or health professional development.
  • have experience from the health or elderly sector, preferably from a politically governed organization.
  • have leadership experience or experience in a role with substantial responsibility for coordination, development and implementation.
  • have demonstrated experience in translating strategies and decisions into concrete results.
  • thrive in complex collaborative relationships and can mobilize followership through professionalism, dialogue and clear direction.
  • communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing.

As a person we hope you are proactive, structured and strong in relationships. You can both think strategically and act pragmatically when solutions need to be turned into reality.

Billund Municipality is a small municipality where both managers and executives book meetings themselves, write minutes and follow tasks through to completion. Therefore we also imagine that you love the "bread-and-butter work", which is often what brings tasks all the way to completion.

Why you should choose us

We offer an exciting and influential leadership position in an ambitious municipality where you have the opportunity to shape the development of an area in great change. You will become part of an organization characterized by high professionalism, strong engagement and a strong focus on collaboration.

We work from the vision of the Children’s Capital and the principles of Playful Working, where curiosity, participation, meaning and community are a natural part of how we work.

If you can see yourself in an organization where we succeed through joint effort, go the extra mile, have a solution mindset and use Playful Working as a strength in daily life, we look forward to receiving your application.
