Special education teacher for Satellitten in Solhøj – close to the children and strong in professional expertise

At Satellitten we are seeking an educator who wants to work with relationships, communication and opportunities for participation for children with special needs. You can be newly qualified or experienced – the most important is your interest in special education and your desire to develop your practice together with others.

A daily life with presence, structure and attention to the individual child

Satellitten is a special provision for 12 children who need a more protected daily routine with clear boundaries and close adult support. We work in smaller groups and tailor the pedagogical effort to the individual child's needs and prerequisites.

You work to create secure relationships, support the children's communication and give them the opportunity to participate in play and communities. It requires presence, patience and an eye for the small steps that can make a big difference for the child.

You will have a role as primary and secondary educator for a small group of children. Together with colleagues, parents and interdisciplinary partners you follow the children's development and adjust the effort along the way.

You will gain responsibility and influence – and close sparring about both what works and what is challenging.

We are looking for you who

• Are a trained pedagogue and have an interest in special education
• Can create safety, structure and predictability
• Are curious about the child's expression and adapt your approach to the individual child
• Can stay calm and keep an overview when a situation becomes challenging
• Contribute to professional sparring and are open to exploring and developing your own practice

You do not need to have experience from a special provision. With us you have the opportunity to build and develop your special educational competencies in a close professional community.

About Solhøj and Satellitten

Solhøj is an integrated institution in Hedehusene with three general groups and one special group, as well as Satellitten with two special groups on a separate campus.

We believe that children develop best when they are met by clear adults and strong relationships. Therefore, we work together to understand the children's needs and create the framework where each child can thrive, develop and be part of the community.

Practical information

The job is 37 hours/week with start on December 1, 2026 or by agreement.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles.
