Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is seeking an area manager who will create cross-cutting leadership, high pedagogical quality, and coherence across day care services.

How do you create a new organization that builds on the best aspects of existing practice and also makes room for new ways to succeed? And how do you develop a leadership community where the individual leaders take on greater responsibility, while at the same time standing stronger together?

These are some of the questions you will have the opportunity to work on as the new area manager in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is changing the organization of the day care area from four to two areas and is therefore seeking one of two area managers to lead the new structure. This is a new position where both the organization and the management task must be shaped and developed. The final geographic distribution of the areas has not yet been determined, and you are therefore seeking the opportunity to help shape the day-care leadership of Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.

You have the opportunity to make a substantial mark

You step in at a time when there is significant room to influence development. The task is to create a new organization with a common direction, strong collaborative relationships and a culture where success is achieved across the organization. You will build on engaged professional environments and local strengths, and also dare to challenge the existing.

You must succeed through other leaders

One of the most exciting tasks will be to develop a leadership model in which local leaders receive a clear mandate and good conditions for exercising close pedagogical leadership. Your task here is to create a leadership team that takes responsibility, develops each other and finds common solutions, with you as the overarching guiding figure.

You will have strategic influence close to the core task

As area manager you will have significant responsibility for both pedagogical development, the finances and the overall operations. You must be able to move between long-term ambitions and everyday concrete dilemmas, and see the connection between them.

You will become part of a tight leadership community

You will work closely with Chief of Growth and Learning Søren Buch, the other area manager and the other leaders in the children and youth area. Here you will have the opportunity to influence the shared priorities and seek sparring in difficult decisions.

We are looking for a leader who is motivated to take on a large responsibility, but who does not need to stand alone with it. A leader who can create results through relationships, clear decisions and strong collaboration.
