About the job
Do you want a versatile everyday life where fire preparedness, on-call shifts, radar watches and practical maintenance go hand in hand?
We are strengthening staffing at Hevring Firing Range and Training Area and are therefore looking for three new employees for the Establishment and Terrain Command.
Do you have steady hands, good technical understanding and a desire to take responsibility? Do you thrive in a varied day where you will be part of emergency response tasks, participate in radar watches during firing and ensure that firing ranges and equipment are maintained and ready for use? Then you may be the person we are looking for.
About us
The Establishment and Terrain Command has its headquarters in Hjørring but has employees at service locations nationwide.
We deliver and develop the physical framework for the Defence’s operational units and the other authorities under the Defence Command. Our tasks include building maintenance, minor repairs, area care in accordance with operating and maintenance plans, maintenance of firing ranges, manufacture of firing equipment, and coordination of subcontractors in connection with larger and smaller projects.
Many of the tasks are carried out by our 28 establishment partner elements, distributed at the largest service locations across the country. Here, everything from user inquiries and purchasing to event support and building maintenance is handled.
You will become part of the Establishment Partner Element, Firing Ranges and Training Areas (EPSKY), where we work together to ensure the best possible conditions for Defence activities.
The aim is to strengthen our overall capacity so that we can handle fire safety readiness, on-call shifts during alarms and the other operating tasks necessary to ensure a well-functioning and safe operation of the firing area.
About the position
You will become part of an engaged team at Hevring Firing Range, where you together share responsibility for the daily operation, safety and maintenance of the firing area and the associated facilities. The position is versatile, and the tasks vary from day to day.
We help each other to solve planned and urgent tasks. Together we must ensure the best possible framework for Defence firing units and support a safe and efficient execution of activities at Hevring Firing Range.
Your main tasks will include
- Fire safety readiness and on-call shifts: You must participate in fire safety readiness and be on call outside normal working hours. This means you must be able to respond to alarms and deploy as needed and follow applicable safety procedures.
- Radar watch during firing: You must participate in radar watch during firing and help prepare and check equipment before and after firing. In addition, you must maintain contact with the firing units.
- Operations and maintenance of firing ranges: You must supervise Hevring Firing Range and the associated decentralized firing ranges. This includes checking the condition and functionality of the ranges, minor repairs and ongoing maintenance so that the ranges are safe and ready for use.
- Safety and compliance checks: You must ensure that the firing ranges meet the applicable requirements of the Firing Range Inspectorate and help identify and rectify any deficiencies.
- Area care and building maintenance: You must perform minor tasks related to area care around firing ranges and buildings as well as simple maintenance of buildings and technical installations. You must also ensure that area care is performed in accordance with the agreed terms.
- Equipment and workshop tasks: You must maintain technical sheet materials, manufacture firing equipment in your own workshop and be responsible for the issue and reception of equipment.
- Practical and administrative tasks: You must assist with goods receipt, inspect deliveries and supervise external suppliers’ work. In addition, various administrative tasks and other practical tasks are part of daily operations.
The position requires that you are flexible and able to keep an overview when tasks change or when acute situations arise. You must be prepared for shift work, including evenings and weekends in connection with firing and other activities.
On-call shifts run from after regular working hours until the next morning, and you must be able to respond as needed. Hours related to on-call shifts and any on-call reimbursements are settled according to applicable rules and are not paid separately. It is therefore important that you thrive in a daily life where working hours depend on the firing area’s activities and needs.
About you
We want you to be educated as a property maintenance technician, have another relevant education, or relevant experience and have experience with maintenance of buildings and technical installations.
As a person, you are first and foremost a good colleague who values good cooperation with your colleagues and contributes effectively to the community. The same community that ensures everyone reaches the goal. You have a flair for coordination and good at communicating clearly with colleagues as well as with subcontractors.
You express yourself well in Danish and are comfortable interacting with others. You are outgoing, have a good sense of humor and good situational awareness. You are always ready to take initiative and find innovative solutions to tasks that arise.
It is required that you hold a Category B driving license, with advantage BE (trailer license over 3500 kg) and a forklift certificate.
It is desirable that you have knowledge of contractor machinery, but this is not a requirement.
Employment conditions
The employment is in accordance with the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector (OAO-S Collective Agreement) and the Collective Agreement for Cleaning Assistants, Sanitation Workers, Skilled Workers and certain Vocational Educated etc. in the state, etc. (3F).

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment relationship.
