Danish teacher for the primary years – with a focus on language, community and participation

Are you passionate about the Danish subject and about giving children a strong linguistic start to their school life? And are you motivated to develop teaching together with others? Then you may be the one we are looking for in our primary school.

We are seeking a academically strong and engaged Danish teacher for a 90% position with start on 1 December 2026. You will become part of our primary school and will also play a central role in a development project with a focus on co-teaching in Danish from kindergarten class through 3rd grade.

The project runs until 1 July 2028, and the position is with the possibility of extension.

About the position

We want to give our youngest pupils the best possible conditions to develop their language, reading and writing and to experience themselves as active participants in the communities of teaching.

Therefore we work purposefully with co-teaching in Danish. We believe that two subject professionals who plan, implement and evaluate the teaching together can create more pathways into the teaching and better opportunities for the individual child to succeed.

You do not need to be an expert in co-teaching beforehand. The most important is that you want to develop your practice together with others and are curious about how we can together create good teaching for different children.

During the project period you will among other things

• teach Danish in the primary years
• participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of co-teaching processes
• have a class teacher role in the primary years
• have a particular focus on the pupils' linguistic development, reading and participation opportunities
• actively contribute to the development of our shared pedagogical practice.

We attach importance to you having a major in Danish or equivalent strong Danish-language competencies.

About us

Stauning School and Daycare is a cohesive unit consisting of a small public school with 85 pupils from 0–6th grade, as well as a nursery, kindergarten and after-school care (SFO). In total, 138 children are attached to our unit.

We are located in scenic natural surroundings close to nature and the fjord in the heart of Nature's Realm – Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality. We have good facilities both indoors and outdoors and work every day to make a difference for the children with our motto:

Practical

Salaries and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement. Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality conducts criminal background and child protection checks in connection with employment, where relevant.
