About the job

Can you create learning with a tool in hand – and would you like to make a difference for young people?

We are looking for you who have your hands well on the tool and who can translate practical work tasks into meaningful learning situations for young people. You will become part of a team that, together with the students, builds on the education track Crafts, Construction and Service and creates a strong, practice-oriented subject environment.

About us

At STU Næstved we work with young people who need a specially tailored youth education. We are in the process of developing STU Næstved as a clear educational institution where we work systematically with the students' learning, development and progression.

In Crafts, Construction and Service we combine professional knowledge with practical and real-world tasks. The students get the opportunity to both understand the subject areas and build concrete skills through work. The tasks can for example include work with wood and metal, small repairs and maintenance, bicycles and machines, green areas, internal service and other practical tasks at and outside STU.

We offer

  • a meaningful job where you make a direct and noticeable difference for young people
  • engaged and professionally strong colleagues in an environment with high ceilings and great diversity
  • a living workplace where teaching, practical tasks and reality are closely linked
  • the opportunity to follow each individual young person closely – academically, socially and personally
  • the opportunity to help shape and further develop Crafts, Construction and Service

Your tasks

You shall among other things

  • create a structured, predictable and safe workshop environment where the young can participate and develop at different levels
  • plan and conduct practical, hands-on teaching and develop relevant tasks and projects
  • work systematically with the students' goals, progression and documentation
  • create coherence between the teaching at STU and companies, internship places, vocational educations and other relevant environments

Your profile

We imagine that you

  • are trained as a carpenter, joiner, mechanic, plumber or property service technician and have a category B driver’s license
  • are passionate about the pedagogical and relational work with young people
  • are practically oriented and have experience with tools, materials and concrete work processes
  • can see learning opportunities in practical tasks and at the same time convey the knowledge and understanding behind them
  • can create structure and overview and are eager to learn from you
  • can set relevant requirements and at the same time tailor support and tasks to the individual young person
  • are curious about the young person’s resources and possibilities for development and participation
  • thrive in an environment where relationships and professional knowledge go hand in hand
  • can collaborate with colleagues, companies, internship sites and educational institutions

We have the ambitions and the direction – and we are looking for you who want to join. So if you get energy from both creating something with your hands and opening new opportunities for young people, it very well may be you we are seeking.
