About the job

Would you like to help make data from the National Archives' collections accessible to citizens? Do you want to support work with challenging and complex case handling together with skilled colleagues at a high professional level? In Access and Egenacces the National Archives works on processing applications for permission to view archival material according to the principle of maximum openness, but usually with one or more conditions set for the permission. There is great interest in the area, and we need your help!

About the National Archives

With almost 1000 years of analog and digital societal documentation, the National Archives is Denmark's memory and knowledge center for the development of Danish society. We collect, preserve and deliver original documents and data that support the needs of the knowledge- and rights-based society and create new insights and understandings of our society. At the National Archives you will become part of an ambitious and modern organization.

In close collaboration with our users we continuously strive to be an important player in the public digital infrastructure, so our large amount of data creates the greatest possible value for citizens, researchers, companies and public authorities.

About the job

As a student you will be part of the Unit for Access and Egenacces. The unit consists of 23 employees, who are distributed at the National Archives' offices in Copenhagen, Odense and Viborg.

Your tasks will consist of participating in the daily solving of the unit's tasks where it makes sense, e.g. by:

  • helping with visitation/processing of applications for digital archival records
  • helping with case preparation work
  • carrying out case handling of less complex cases
  • helping with updating templates etc.
  • practical ad hoc tasks
  • taking care of our mailbox together with the other students

Together we continually work on developing processes and workflows so we solve our tasks as efficiently and smoothly as possible. You will therefore work thoroughly with attention to detail, while also seeing the broader perspectives and connections.

About you

We are looking for student assistants who can say yes to the following

  • Are independent and meticulous
  • Are approachable and good at collaborating
  • Are able and want to work digitally

You have a structured and independent approach and use your professional abilities to ensure fast, correct and efficient case processing. You value humor, open communication and sparring in everyday life.

About us

The National Archives handles questions about access to data with as much openness as possible. At the same time we must safeguard other citizens' rights to privacy. This requires secure case handling, where data from any state and regional authorities and a large portion of municipal data come into play.

We prioritize good opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as a strong professional and social working environment, where tasks are solved in collaboration with colleagues.

For us, presence with our colleagues matters a lot, and we believe collaboration and knowledge sharing across the National Archives is crucial for a good working environment. At the same time we want to ensure flexibility for our employees, and home working is agreed on an ongoing basis between the manager and the employee when compatible with task performance.

It is important to us that you get a good start at the National Archives. There will be an onboarding program for the first weeks, where you get ample opportunity to get to know your new colleagues and the organization as well as to get started with your tasks.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and OAO-S/HK. The working hours are an average of 15 hours per week. We have flexible working hours and emphasize that work and private life fit well together.
