About the job

Are you ready to support the managers and colleagues in the Development and Planning Staff with structure, overview and coordination in a busy and exciting everyday life?

Then you may be our new colleague in the Personnel Development Department.

About us

Denmark and Europe are in a serious security policy situation, and the need for effective coordination and good managerial support has never been greater. In the Defence Staff, the Development and Planning Staff contributes to ensuring that the Defence is prepared for future challenges – and acts on current needs.

Personnel Development Section 3 is part of the Personnel Development Department in the Development and Planning Staff in the Defence Staff and currently consists of a section chief and 6 employees divided into two teams – a staff support team as well as another team working on prioritized projects directly under the Defence's top management.

The position is placed in the staff support team, which functions as a classic executive secretariat and is a central link between the organization, the managers in the Development and Planning Staff and the rest of the Defence Staff. We handle tasks such as task triage, general support to managers, financial and staffing overview and ad hoc tasks. We support a daily life where the tasks are varied – but where we still place importance on having fun.

About the position

As a student employee in the team you will be an important member in the work of supporting the management across the staff through triaging tasks to departments as well as support with a range of practical tasks in areas such as finance, structure, IT and HR, as your tasks will have great significance for the overall operation of the staff.

There is great potential for development in the position, and over time you will share responsibility for handling cases from start to finish – from mapping, coordination to preparing responses to inquiries to the Development and Planning Staff.

About you

You are pursuing a relevant higher education – e.g. political science, social studies, public administration, law or similar – and want to translate your knowledge into practice in a large public organization with societally critical tasks.

You are structured and thrive in supporting your colleagues as well as taking responsibility for tasks.

Our wish is that you

  • Are curious and want to learn how the Defence works
  • Are methodical and attentive to details
  • Have good written and oral communication skills
  • Want to join a collaborative and goal-oriented team
  • Can work independently on tasks when needed
  • Have experience with the Office suite

You do not need to have experience from similar jobs, but it is advantageous if you have worked with administrative tasks, coordination or similar – e.g. from another public authority.

Employment terms

The employment is governed by the current Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector Agreement (OAO-S Joint Agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK agreement).

Your employment as a student assistant is conditional on you being an active student and can document that you are enrolled at a higher education institution or in a medium-length higher education program (MVU) at a university college or equivalent institution.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiation of allowances.

There is an employer-financed pension scheme associated with the position.

The workplace is in Copenhagen.

As an employee within the Defence Ministry's area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance during the entire employment. You have as an employee a duty to perform service outside the country's borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
