Medical student for Aalborg University Hospital – Adult Psychiatry, General Psychiatry Department, Aalborg

We need extra hands in the spring months, and therefore we are seeking 6 medical students from 1 February 2027 or after further agreement.

Here we have for many years employed students as substitutes for doctors, and here you will make a difference in daily life in the departments and in the on-call team. About the job

You will become part of a large department, but as a starting point you will be attached to one of the six bed wards in Adult Psychiatry, where after thorough training you will be part of the treatment team and the daily operation. Our doctors are often on shifts for courses, meetings and similar, where you will take a central role in the department.

The employment is full-time and will primarily take place in daytime service, excluding some shifts from 8-21. We are very flexible and in planning we take big account of wishes for working hours and days off. About 1 year ago we introduced the possibility of additional 'voluntary' shifts on weekends. Your workplace will be in the Psychiatry Building in the Hospital City.

About you

You are a medical student, have completed the 8th semester – and you have a strong interest in the psychiatric area.

We naturally place weight on good professional qualifications, communicative abilities and good collaborative skills.

About us

Professionally, the General Psychiatric Department, Aalborg covers all general psychiatric fields.

We are organized with 2 closed intensive and 4 open bed wards, a psychiatric emergency department/ reception and a number of outpatient clinics. The departments are organized into 2 open affective bed wards + associated outpatient clinics, 2 open psychosis departments + associated outpatient clinics and 2 closed intensive/acute departments.

In addition, we have a close collaboration with bed wards for forensic psychiatry + associated outpatient clinics and during on-call hours covered pediatric and adolescent psychiatric wards.
