About the job

We are looking for someone who can create direction together with others. Be part of giving leisure-time pedagogy a clear place in the school's leadership – and create even better coherence between school, SFO and club

At Gladsaxe School we are seeking a professional leader with educational background. You will have a central role in developing leisure-time pedagogy and in creating a strong throughline through the children's day.

You will be part of an experienced leadership team where we help each other, spar closely and take joint responsibility – even when something is difficult.

Why you should apply for the job

With us you get a leadership position where leisure-time pedagogy is not an appendix to the school, but a professional field we want clearly integrated into the leadership.

You will get

  • a leadership team that backs each other up and is united in leading the school
  • employees who want to bring their professional expertise into play
  • a stable SFO and club group with strong traditions
  • opportunity to develop the coherence between school, SFO and club
  • a school focusing on communities and opportunities for participation for all children
  • a municipality where there is political focus on cross-disciplinary school leadership

You also get the opportunity to shape the position. We have a good idea of what we need in the common good – but we are curious about what you specifically bring and how your strengths can unfold with us.

Your strengths and competencies

  • You stand strong in your pedagogical field and have knowledge of leisure-time pedagogy, children's communities and children's opportunities to participate.
  • You create direction without bulldozing. You can listen, involve and be clear so that the staff know where you are headed – and why.
  • You have a sense of everyday life. You can translate frameworks, resources and agreements into practices that work for children and staff.
  • You can create structure and hold fast when needed. At the same time you can see when something should be adjusted, prioritized or developed.
  • You naturally collaborate across. You see the value in both teaching and pedagogical professionalism and can help strengthen the collaboration between school, SFO and club.
  • You may have leadership experience – but the most important thing is that you want to lead and can see yourself in a leadership community where we support each other and contribute with perspectives that create the best leadership of the school
  • If you are new to leadership but have solid pedagogical experience and are ready to develop yourself as a leader, we would also like to hear from you.

Your role

You will lead the SFO and club and get a special cross-cutting responsibility for leisure-time pedagogy at Gladsaxe School.

You will among other things have to

  • lead, develop and be personnel leader for 0th grade as well as the SFO and club area.
  • strengthen the coherence between school, SFO and club
  • create structure, overview and direction in everyday life
  • support collaboration between pedagogues and teachers
  • support and qualify practice and staff's professional decisions
  • contribute to the leadership team's overall work with children, staff and school development

You will be part of a leadership team where we help each other

We are an experienced leadership team that spar with each other, follow up together and take over for each other when needed. We are action-oriented and focused on looking at our own possibilities.

We also strive to maintain a proper and cheerful mood – because we know that school leadership requires seriousness, overview and a bit of humor in daily life.

In the leadership team we have both personnel responsibility for certain areas and cross-cutting leadership tasks. Your particular focus will be leisure-time pedagogy and the coherence between school, SFO and club.

You will get a leader who gives you freedom and emphasizes that you are a team. You can expect both curious questions and support.

You are joining a school with strong communities

Gladsaxe School is a bright and kind school with children and adults who see each other. It is felt in daily life – including something as simple as children greeting and saying good morning.

We work consciously with communities, participation opportunities and strong relationships across classes and year groups. We have common traditions and activities that bind the school together.

In SFO and club you will meet many staff who have been here for many years. This provides stability, experience and strong knowledge of the children and everyday life. At the same time you will meet staff who want to develop practice, discuss professionalism and contribute with their perspectives.

Several former staff have returned to Gladsaxe School after trying something else. We also see that apprentices and substitutes return or want to train in the school and leisure area. We take that as a good sign.

Both club and SFO actively participate in many cross-cutting activities for the children across the municipality. Here there is room to contribute to both the larger and smaller communities.

Send us your application

If you want to know more about the position, you are very welcome to contact the school principal Vibeke Damgaard at telephone 23 84 73 39.

Call Vibeke to arrange a visit. You are also welcome to stop by to see the school and feel the atmosphere. If Vibeke does not answer right away, please send an SMS and possibly when you are best reached. Then Vibeke will call back.

We look forward to hearing from you. In your application you are welcome to tell us

  • what good leisure-time pedagogical leadership means to you – preferably with examples from your own daily life.
  • how you see the coherence between school, SFO and club
  • how you create shared leadership and clarity in a staff group
  • what you hope to contribute with us – both for the children, staff and the leadership team

There is an application deadline approximately November 29, 2026 , and we expect to hold interviews on December 7 and December 16. Both days from 1:00 PM.

It is planned that you will assume February 1, 2027 .
