About the job

Do you want to lead an important professional group and help create a new shared narrative about the health administrative area’s importance for patient pathways, quality and operations? At the Gynecological-Obstetric Department, Amager and Hvidovre Hospital, we are seeking a health administrative leader who can bring together our secretarial group across sections, functions and locations.

We are in a time where the health care system is undergoing change. Patient pathways are becoming more complex, requirements for quality and accessibility are increasing, and new technological possibilities are changing the way we work. Therefore we are looking for a leader who can create security in the change, strengthen the professional community and inspire staff to develop future administrative solutions.

A central leadership role in the department

As health administrative leader you will be part of the department’s overall leadership team and report to the department management with the chief nurse as your immediate supervisor.

You will be responsible for a group of engaged and competent health administrative employees, who work closely with patients and play a crucial role in ensuring that the department’s patient pathways function safely, efficiently and with high quality.

The secretaries are organizationally under you, but work in several different sections and functions.

One of your central focus areas will be to ensure a close and trusting collaboration with the department’s middle managers, who have the daily management of the clinical sections, where the secretaries are an important part of the task solution.

You shall as health administrative leader contribute to creating cohesion, a shared identity and a strong professional community across the organization.

Your most important leadership tasks

You shall

  • lead and develop the department’s health administrative staff
  • create a shared culture and professional identity across sections and functions
  • develop a new common narrative about the secretaries’ significance for patient pathways, quality and operations
  • create engagement and followership in a time of change
  • support the development of new ways of working and administrative solutions, including digitization
  • ensure high quality in patient administrative tasks and registration
  • contribute to the department’s resources being used flexibly and efficiently
  • strengthen collaboration between secretaries, section heads and other professional groups
  • translate strategic goals into concrete improvements in everyday life
  • actively contribute to ensuring cohesive patient pathways and the achievement of the department’s goals, including respect for patient rights

What would constitute success after the first year?

You should not only continue a well-functioning operation. You should help build a strong foundation for the health administrative organization of the future.

After the first year we expect that

  • the secretarial group more strongly experiences itself as one unified professional group with a strong shared identity
  • the employees experience clear direction and involvement in the changes the department faces
  • the department achieves its goal of fulfilling the right to evaluation through a strong focus on patient administration, coordination and capacity utilization
  • the health administrative organization visibly contributes to the department’s overall strategic goals

We are looking for a leader who

  • has experience with leadership, preferably within health care
  • has insight into patient administrative processes and health administrative areas
  • can create followership and engagement around common goals
  • has experience with change management and organizational development
  • works relationally and inclusively
  • is clear, decisive and able to act
  • can balance operations, development and employee well-being
  • communicates clearly and creates meaning in complex contexts
  • remains calm, maintains overview and good humor, even when tasks are complex, pace is high, and not everything goes as planned

We offer

An exciting leadership position in a department with high ambitions for both patients, staff and the organization.

You will have the opportunity to leave a clear mark on the development within a professional group that is increasingly important in the future health care system, as well as the opportunity to contribute to strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination of patient pathways.

You will become part of a dedicated leadership team with a focus on collaboration, quality and development.
