About the job

Join Area North and make a difference for children and families - you will become part of a strong professional and collegial community

The health visiting service in the City of Copenhagen, Area North, is looking for engaged and professionally skilled health visitors to our teams. We are growing, and several colleagues are going on maternity leave or retirement. Therefore we are seeking new colleagues who want to contribute to making a difference for children and families.

You will become part of a strong professional and collegial community with more than 70 health visitors spread across six teams. We have a wide range of experiences and competencies, which we use to share knowledge, spar and develop our professionalism.

Health visitor offerings and interventions

We are ambitious on behalf of pregnant people, children and families and have a sustained focus on our core task: to give children the best possible start in life and support families in their daily lives.

We continually work to translate new knowledge into good practice and are trained in ADBB, AIMS, COS-P and several are trained IBCLC/DCA and motor skills instructors. We continuously develop our professionalism and our offerings. Most recently we have been trained in the Mary Foundation's initiative Together without violence, and we continuously work to translate new knowledge into good practice.

We offer pregnancy visits, six home visits in the first year of life, and visits after around the age of 1 as needed. Among our interventions are: A good start for the family, postnatal groups, parenting courses, young mothers group, baby cafe, fathers' playgroup and more.

Interdisciplinary collaboration and organization

Interprofessional collaboration is highly valued. We work closely with, among others, the Social Administration and other professional groups around children and families, because we believe the best solutions are created together. We are organized together with the cross-disciplinary support housed in our shared building at Vibevej 9.

In close collaboration with the Social Administration, we have opened Balder10 Family House for families with children aged 0-6 years. Here we develop activities and offerings together with civil society actors focusing on community, well-being and early intervention.

In the school sector we are developing and testing the preventive school absenteeism project Come to school happy – every day.

In other words, with us you can both use your public health nursing expertise and help develop the way we work.

Community and flexibility

We place great emphasis on a safe working environment, where professional sparring and supervision by a psychologist are an important part of our everyday life. We eat lunch together and prioritise community and humor in everyday life.

As a new colleague you will receive a mentor and a thorough introduction.

We imagine you

  • are a licensed health visitor and want to work in a combined position with both infants, school and/or as a consultant in the day-care sector
  • work independently and can structure your tasks
  • have a strong professional commitment and a desire to develop your professional skills
  • thrive in interprofessional collaboration
  • want to actively contribute to a good working environment and a strong collegial community

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement. Salary is negotiated with your professional organization.
