Anesthesiology nurses sought for Anesthesia Ward 1, Aalborg University Hospital

Anesthesia Ward 1

The department covers several specialties distributed across two sites. Your primary workplace will be Anesthesia Ward 1 in Hospital City in the East, and you will only have a few working days at Aalborg South. Below we describe the function at your primary place of employment.

In Anesthesia Ward 1 orthopedic and neurosurgical anesthesia are consolidated in one ward. In the Neurosurgical Anesthesia Ward we provide anesthesia for intracranial surgery, classic neurosurgical spinal surgery, and placement of pain electrodes. In the Orthopedic Anesthesia Ward we provide anesthesia for both children and adults in all orthopedic subspecialties, including everything from day surgery to major spine surgery.

In addition we handle

• Acute function for acute medical patients in ATC
• Reception of trauma patients as part of the trauma team
• Patient transport within and outside the region
• Interventional radiology
• Anesthesia for MR and CT scans

We have eight operating rooms in operation daily. We are about 34 anesthesia nurses, including a ward-leading nurse and two coordinating anesthesia nurses. The staff group also includes anesthesia nurses with U- and UU-function as well as pain nurses.

The department is a training site for nurses training to become anesthesia nurses and nursing students on the 1st semester. We also contribute to the training of anesthesiologists in main training, ambulance attendants, paramedics and the Defence medical students.

You are in good hands from day one. Throughout the introduction period you are attached to experienced colleagues who support you and equip you well to perform your tasks. Additionally you have the opportunity to participate in relevant courses in the Skills Laboratory at Aalborg University Hospital (NordSim), simulation courses in your own ward, ATCN and national and international courses within FSAIO.

You are a specially trained anesthesia nurse and thrive in a busy and changing everyday life with complex tasks and close interprofessional collaboration. You are known for your ability to communicate clearly and appreciatively, even when the situation becomes complex and requires action here-and-now.

Practical

Salary and employment terms according to the current agreement for non-management staff in the Health sector area established with the Danish Nurses Organization. The position is 37 hours, and you have influence over your shift plan to fit your needs.

Workplace

Your primary place of employment will be at Anesthesia Ward 1 in Aalborg. Your area of employment is the North Jutland Region with service at Aalborg University Hospital, Anesthesia Aalborg. It may be necessary to serve at other wards under Anesthesia Aalborg, in accordance with the contractual notice for changes to the shift plan.
