We are seeking two pedagogical assistants for Sundhøj Børnehus. One position is to be filled as soon as possible, and the other from 1 December 2026.

About us

At Sundhøj Børnehus we believe that children develop best when they encounter adults who create safety, presence and meaningful communities. We are an integrated institution with a nursery and a kindergarten spread over two departments in Sundhøj and Vindeby.

Our pedagogical work is rooted in the NEST principles, neuroaffective developmental psychology and sensorimotor understanding. We deliberately work to create clear and predictable learning environments where all children feel they belong, participate and have influence. We meet children with curiosity and always try to understand what lies behind the behavior. Together with the children, we work on developing relationships, self-understanding and new ways of acting.

With us, the community is at the center. We believe that children develop through participation in meaningful relationships, and that strong adult communities create the best conditions for children's well-being, learning and development.

A typical day may include forest play, trips to Havheskens hul (the Witch’s Hole), creative projects, immersion in smaller communities or attentive interaction in the children’s own play. We actively use nature and the local community as part of our learning environments and start from the children's perspectives, curiosity and initiatives.

About Sundhøj Børnehus and Øbakkerne

Sundhøj Børnehus is part of Øbakkerne, which consists of seven kindergartens with a shared professional direction, strong development communities and a focus on high quality in the day care centers. Øbakkerne collectively harbors almost 450 children, 70 staff, seven pedagogical team leaders and one day care manager.

In Svendborg Municipality, the salary for this type of position typically ranges between 33,892 and 40,885 DKK per month for full-time employment. The salary includes pension, special holiday entitlement and fixed allowances. Additionally, there may be time-based allowances and other special payments. It is important to note that your exact salary is determined by your experience, seniority and competencies and is agreed upon in negotiation with the relevant trade union.
