Do you want to help create change for some of society's most vulnerable and exposed citizens? Can you be the support and backing that the person you are facing needs? Do you want a job with a lot of freedom under responsibility, where the workdays rarely look the same? Then you might be our new Support and Contact Person (SKP), who provides support to citizens under the Service Act §99.

In the Support and Contact Person Scheme in Assens Municipality, we are seeking a new SKP for the team by December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

About the job

As an SKP, your most important task, based on a caregiving obligation, is to create contact, build trusting relationships and support citizens who, due to social and/or mental health challenges, have difficulty using or maintaining contact with existing support services.

You will work with citizens in complex life situations who have difficulty managing life with mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness or social vulnerability.

The intervention always starts from the citizen's current situation, wishes and dreams for their own life. You support the citizen's opportunities for development, well-being, coping and participation on their own terms.

The work takes place where the citizen is. It can be on the streets, in their own home, at drop-in centers, institutions or other places in the local environment.

We have a particular focus on citizens in transitional housing who want a more stable life situation. This sometimes takes us far afield to meet the citizen where they are.

There is great flexibility in both task planning and working hours, and you must therefore thrive in a daily life where needs and interventions can change from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour.

In the Support and Contact Person Scheme, we have both short and longer-term cases. Some citizens need a specific intervention, while others require longer support to handle life's challenges.

We have substantial influence on our daily work and continuously prioritize discussing how we best support both the citizens and each other within the framework and conditions we operate under.

You should expect to work very independently, but there is always a colleague, supervisor or partner to consult with – both professionally and on days when the complexity of tasks fills the day.

SKP is a small but strong unit consisting of you and one other colleague, but with around 25 housing support colleagues just on the other side of the door. You will have a visible coordinator and manager who have in-depth knowledge of the area from previous experience as an executor.

Vacation and time off are coordinated collectively, so as a rule there is always an SKP at work on weekdays.

About you

We are looking for a colleague who

• Has experience with social work among vulnerable citizens
• Has knowledge of and experience with substance abuse issues and psychiatry
• Would preferably have experience in the homelessness area
• Has a social work education or considerable experience with the target group and knowledge of the legislation in the area
• Can maintain energy in long, tough stretches and at the same time find a quick solution to an acute and difficult situation
• Can work independently and make professional judgments in complex situations
• Possesses strong professional and administrative competencies, including documentation and coordination
• Is relationship-oriented, persistent and meets citizens with respect, curiosity and recognition
• Thrives with flexible working hours, varying tasks and many different partners in the organization

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 37 hours, but we are open to a lower hourly rate if you wish for it.

A driving license is a requirement to hold the position.

Salary and terms of employment are according to the applicable collective agreement and based on the principles of local wage formation. Please note that a criminal record check will be obtained upon hire.
