Hybrid Microsoft infrastructure and IT security

Operations, security and governance in the same role.

Can you get a hybrid Microsoft environment to run stably while complying with NIS2? Then you might be our new colleague in the IT team.

At AffaldPlus, a system outage is not just an annoying pause in your email. It can stop the weighing at the environmental plant, the recycling shop’s bins, or the control of the waste-to-energy plant and district heating. And this applies at more than 40 locations in South and West Zealand.

Waste and energy are critical infrastructure. And critical infrastructure is a target. Therefore, our IT must be more than stable. It must be secure.

Your new IT team

Your closest colleagues are the IT team: a team lead, a systems administrator, a BI consultant, two IT support technicians and an IT apprentice.

Together we run IT for the entire group. We collaborate with each other, have a high degree of independence and a short path from idea to action.

IT is part of the Staff and Business Development. Here you work closely with colleagues from, among others, HR and payroll, business development, communications and the management secretariat, and you will collaborate widely across the organization.

Your tasks

You will among other things

• Drive and develop our hybrid Microsoft environment with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Take ownership of identity and access, from Conditional Access and MFA to privileged accounts.
• Work with security monitoring, incident handling and vulnerability management.
• Conduct risk assessments of our IT and OT systems and ensure that we can recover data after a breakdown.
• Automate and integrate with PowerShell and APIs and manage the SQL Server environment in collaboration with our BI consultant.
• Contribute to NIS2- and GDPR-work with documentation, controls and disaster drills.
• Act as the link to our suppliers.

IT and security at AffaldPlus

We operate in a hybrid environment with locally managed Active Directory and Entra ID, Microsoft 365, SQL Server, SIEM, EDR and backup solutions.

On top of this lie ERP, ESDH, BI and a range of industry systems, from road- and traffic-management systems to OT at the waste-to-energy plant and district heating plants.

In our strategy for 2025-2030, the board has set a clear goal

From 2028, all central IT- and OT-systems must be protected by documented security measures and annual risk assessments.

You will play a central role in achieving that goal, and management supports the work.

Who are you?

Your education is not decisive. The most important thing is that you have solid experience with both operation and security in Microsoft environments.

We imagine that you

• Have operated Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365/Entra ID in mission-critical environments.
• Have experience with technical IT security, e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management and access control.
• Have practical experience implementing NIS2 or DORA, also in daily operations and not only in policies and documents.
• Work risk-based and are familiar with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and CIS Controls v8.1.
• Automate with PowerShell and preferably Python and APIs.
• Have experience from a public or highly regulated organization.
• Work in a structured way, maintain overview and can explain technology so others understand it.

Certifications in Microsoft identity and security, e.g., SC-300, and knowledge of OT are a plus.

You must have a driving license for a car (category B).

Practical information

The position is 37 hours per week with no maximum working time.

Salary and employment terms follow the agreement between KL and your professional organization.
