About the job
Can you remain calm when the night requires professional assessments, quick decisions and a good overview – and can you give residents calm and security at night? Then you are the one we are looking for at Kærbo in Østerbro.
As the on-duty night supervisor, you play an important role at our care home with 53 units. You have the overarching professional responsibility during the night and are the person your colleagues can turn to when situations arise that require sparring, assessment or action. At the same time, you are part of the daily care and support for the residents. You will therefore come very close to the people it is all about – and you will get a night shift where professional responsibility and presence go hand in hand.
The night must be calm and safe for our residents. But it can also bring unforeseen situations where action is required.
As the on-duty supervisor, you are the one who steps in when a clinical perspective or a professional assessment is needed. You must be able to prioritise and coordinate when several things happen at once, and at the same time know when a colleague needs your help.
You will, among other things
- have the overall professional responsibility for the night
- create safety and continuity for 53 residents at Kærbo
- be a professional sparring partner for your colleagues
- observe changes in residents’ condition and respond appropriately
- make health-related assessments and make professionally justified decisions
- handle acute and unforeseen situations with calm and overview
- coordinate and prioritise tasks across the house
- secure relevant documentation and follow-up in CURA and thus ensure a good handover to day and evening shift
- contribute to quality and good working procedures
At Kærbo, residents should experience that their home is a place where they have influence over their own lives. We work purposefully to counter the institutional mindset and to create a care home where residents and their relatives are involved in the important decisions. This also applies at night.
You meet the residents with respect, presence and care and have an eye for their habits, wishes and needs. You know that a good night is not just about solving tasks, but about creating security, dignity and calm for the individual person.
A job for you who can stand strongly professionally
We imagine that you
- are educated as a Social and Health Care Assistant or nurse
- have strong health professional competencies
- preferably have experience from the geriatric field
- work independently and take responsibility
- can remain calm and maintain an overview, even when the situation changes
- have good observation and assessment skills
- can make professionally justified decisions
- communicate clearly and constructively
- thrive on being a professional sparring partner for your colleagues
- have knowledge of or interest in CURA
- are proactive and eager to contribute to development and quality
Most important is that you want to take responsibility and help create good nights for both residents and colleagues.
Become part of Kærbo
Kærbo is a modern municipal care home in Østerbro with 53 residents. We were built in 1997 and are centrally located close to Nordre Frihavnsgade and Østerbrogade, public transport, shops and cafés.
Our residents live in two-room apartments spread over seven floors with common living areas. We also have a lovely shared courtyard garden which we enjoy when the weather allows.
At Kærbo we work to ensure that Kærbo is a place you choose – a place you want to live, work and visit. We highly value democracy, participation and good neighbourliness. Therefore, Kærbo should be a home where residents have influence on their everyday life, and where both residents and relatives are involved.
Ready to take responsibility for the night?
If you can combine professionalism, presence and overview, and you want to become an important part of Kærbo’s night team, we would love to hear from you.

We want to fill the position by 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible. In connection with the appointment, we will obtain a criminal record check and references.
If you have previously been employed by the City of Copenhagen, the following also applies
