Are you our new teacher with brains and heart? Are you passionate about making a difference and creating the best children's community with high professionalism and well-being, then you are the one we are looking for on Team Rørby, located at Rørby School.

What we are like.

We are a village school with a principal, a school secretary, 7 teachers in the school, 3 pedagogical staff in the after-school program, an AKT counsellor. We are in rapid development and even though the school is small with currently 68 pupils distributed across grades 0-6, this year we have 12 pupils in 0th grade, next year it looks like there will be 14 children, even though pupil numbers in the municipality are decreasing.

We are convinced that the values of community, kindness, professionalism and making things work are important. You must therefore be adaptable, hardworking and able to juggle many balls. We place high value on humor and have an appreciative view of children that guides them in a curious and helpful way onto the right path. We have a strong focus on collaboration, so you must be willing to contribute.

We have, as something quite special, age-integrated teaching where children are taught in cohorts that make the most sense. This year, 1-2 grade, 3-4 grade and 5-6 grade are together with two teachers for most lessons. Depending on the purpose, you can split into two groups, or do Co-teaching at full speed. Next year the groups may be different as we grow in pupil numbers from below. We have the loveliest outdoor areas for movement or practical subjects.

We have two four-week project-oriented teaching periods per year, where the timetable is broken up and the children have the same teachers for all lessons from 8-13. We have morning song and movement every morning, as well as outdoor school in the lower primary, where the teaching takes place away from the school building. We are a modern school that is on the move.

Your presence and approach to life rub off and leave an unforgettable mark on our children. Since we are a small unit at our school, you and your mood and your attitude toward teaching tasks have a great influence on your colleagues; we give a bit of ourselves to the community and we place a high value on a good mental working environment.

We need.

We primarily need a Danish teacher for the upper primary. If you are a Danish advisor , you will get an attractive position where there is actually time to provide guidance. We are very flexible and even if your favorite subject isn’t available right now, everything is up in the air for the spring, where you have as much influence on which subjects you would like to teach next year as everyone else. Other subjects currently available are, physical education, science and technology (N/T), handicrafts and design.

If you have an AKT advisor qualification or are very interested in it, we experiment with blended forms where your competencies can come into play.

Currently we are additionally looking for a music teacher, so please indicate this if applicable.
