About the school

Mellervangskolen is a public school in eastern Aalborg with 440 pupils and 100 staff. The school operates two streams from ages 0-9 with an accompanying DUS program for pupils from ages 0-3. In addition the school has Focus Classes. The Focus Class has a DUS/club attached. Mellervangskolen also houses DELTA classes for grades in the Older division.

All teams, both in mainstream and special education, work with a consistent approach to the transformation of DELTA-inspired learning environments and the use of visual structures across Mellervangskolen. The transformation of DELTA-inspired learning environments originates from the school's strategic plan.

The school is department-divided, and there is a high degree of self-management and responsibility in a committed collaboration within the team. At Mellervangskolen there is a duty to collaborate. It is therefore important that you are a team player and together with the team create a safe, structured and predictable everyday life with the children at the center.

At Mellervangskolen we have defined our shared core task, and it is the starting point for our priorities and focus in pedagogical practice. The core task is: “At Mellervangskolen we create development opportunities that promote well-being and learning in wonderful, committed communities with participation opportunities for all and room for unconventional solutions.” It is therefore central that you can see yourself in this formulation.

About the position

You will be attached to the Older division which houses grades 5-9, where you will teach

• Danish 8a
• Co-teaching Danish 8b
• German 6b, 8a and 8b

Other subjects and support lessons may be discussed - this depends on your teaching competences and major subject.

Of course you will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating teaching and learning processes individually and in collaboration with your team and colleagues.

We expect that together with your team you can

• Commit yourself to our core task and our inclusion framework.
• Engage in close collaboration with parents and fellow team members.
• Participate in other team constellations when required.
• Work concretely and systematically with interventions at individual and collective levels.
• Meet all students with relevant pedagogy and didactics.
• Work independently and in teams and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with PPR and others.
• Put your subject expertise to use in subject teams and at learning conferences.
• Navigate in a sometimes unpredictable everyday life with a focus on creating the best framework and conditions for children with special needs, within and under the provided framework.

Salary and employment terms: The position is a permanent full-time appointment under the current collective agreement.

Start date as soon as possible or as agreed, taking into account the applicant's current employment.
