About the job

Become part of a school where we believe in the children, even when they don’t believe in themselves

Ejstrupholm School is seeking a trained teacher for a permanent full-time position in our middle forms and special education offerings. The position is primarily aimed at students in the middle school and upper secondary years.

We are especially seeking competencies in Danish and English, and preferably other humanities subjects.

The position also includes AKT lessons, where you will contribute to strengthening the well-being and participation of individual students and of class communities.

About the role

You will become part of a closely collaborating team around students who need a clear, structured and individually tailored school day. The students can, among other things, be challenged by ADHD, autism as well as learning and attention difficulties.

In daily practice you must be able to balance setting relevant demands and continuously adjusting the instruction according to the students' resources, needs and possibilities. We emphasise that you can create meaningful teaching, good relationships and experiences of mastery – even when the school day becomes challenging for the individual student.

The AKT lessons can include interventions for individual students as well as work with groups and class communities.

We are looking for you who

  • are a qualified teacher and can teach Danish and English, as well as other humanities subjects if possible
  • have special education knowledge or a strong interest in the area
  • can adapt your teaching and pedagogical approach to the individual student
  • see strong and trusting relationships as a prerequisite for learning, development and well-being
  • can create structure, predictability and clear boundaries
  • can stay calm and act thoughtfully when students encounter the school day with resistance or frustration
  • are committed to creating opportunities for participation and experiences of mastery
  • thrive in a committed team collaboration characterized by open communication, professional curiosity and reflection
  • can engage constructively in collaboration with parents, colleagues and external partners
  • want to actively contribute to the school’s AKT work and the development of inclusive learning environments.

Experience from the special education field or with AKT work is an advantage, but what matters is your approach to the students and your desire to develop professionally.

We offer

  • a permanent full-time position at a school with short decision-making paths and close collaboration
  • opportunity for professional development within special pedagogy, middle forms and AKT
  • skilled and engaged colleagues who help each other and share their practice
  • opportunity to influence the development of our middle form and special offerings
  • a working environment focused on both children’s and adults’ well-being
  • close and constructive collaboration with parents
  • a workplace with humor, engagement and room for diversity.
