Teacher for the advisory classes at Bjergmark School – with Danish at the middle school level

At Bjergmarkskolen we are looking for a trained teacher for our contact classes. Here, the relationship to the individual child, clear preparation and participation in communities are the focus of your work.

Welcome to Bjergmarkskolen

Bjergmarkskolen is located in the town of Holbæk and has approximately 800 students from 0–9th grade, including our learning and contact classes. The school is organized into smaller houses, typically with two year groups in each. We have large outdoor areas with playgrounds, woods and play areas that provide good opportunities for activities and community.

Our special provision: contact and learning classes

Our special provision consists of contact classes and learning classes. Students are admitted to the provision from day care or school.

Contact classes are for students with neurodivergent developmental profiles, general cognitive prerequisites and behavioral challenges. The special educational framework consists of small, easily manageable communities with few, consistent adults. Each class is normed to about eight students with two adults present at a time. The class team's three adults cover the schedule as a whole.

Learning classes are for students with learning difficulties, some of whom also have a diagnosis. The position is in the contact classes at the middle school level.

Relations, clear frameworks and opportunities to participate

Your main task is to create a safe and trusting relationship with the individual child as the foundation for learning and well-being. You prepare the students for activities and transitions and create a predictable school day with clear expectations that take their different prerequisites into account. Together with your colleagues you work purposefully on the students' social skills and concrete strategies that strengthen their opportunities to participate in communities both at school and in their free time.

As one of the class's enduring adults, you help create coherence between the students' academic learning, well-being and participation.

You will have close collaboration with your class team, weekly team meetings and dedicated time for joint preparation. Together you plan and coordinate the teaching and use the professional sparring to adapt the support to the students' needs and development.

You design differentiated instruction so that students with different prerequisites and needs get the opportunity to learn and participate. Close collaboration with the parents is also an important part of your task.

Room for ideas and professional development

You will have the opportunity to put your ideas into play and contribute to the school's development. The morning café and the chess patrol are examples of initiatives that staff have started. We support your professional development, and you become part of a large school where we use each other's diverse competencies and learn from one another.

• is a trained teacher – this is a requirement – and can teach Danish at the middle school level
• are genuinely interested in each individual child and meet the students with respect and awareness of their prerequisites and possibilities
• prioritize close collaboration and professional sparring with your colleagues about the students' learning, well-being and development.
