Teachers for the Growth Classes in Ugerløse - make a difference every day

Growth classes are a special offer where teaching, relationship work and pedagogical treatment go hand in hand. In the first instance the offer has started in the early years and in the middle school at Ugerløse School.

We are therefore looking for teachers who want to work closely with the students' social, personal and academic development. The subject package is Danish, mathematics and/or English, but we are happy to hear from you if everything else just fits.

We are looking for both a full-time teacher and one or more part-time teachers.

A little about the offer

Growth classes are a specially designed offer for students who need smaller learning environments, clear adults and a structured everyday life. A class consists of 6-8 students and 4 adults.

A condition you will experience is that the children can be physically active in their behavior, and this places great demands on you as a professional. You can remain calm and regulate the environment so that it becomes conflict-deescalating. You are grounded in the child’s perspective and can handle conflicts and physical behavior within the pedagogical framework.

You believe that when children experience adults who stay, create security and help them back into regulation, small – but very meaningful – steps in their development often occur. As an employee you get the opportunity to build strong relationships, see the children grow in self-understanding and experience how your professional skills make a concrete difference in their everyday life.

Both school and leisure

In the growth classes we place great emphasis on the fact that the children meet known adults throughout their day. This means that, as an employee, you are with the child in the hours when the child is in the offer.

This coherence creates security, calm and predictability for the children – and is a prerequisite for relationship-building, regulation and learning. It requires that you are flexible regarding working hours and holiday periods, and you have the opportunity to work holistically and experience how continuity and clear relationships make a noticeable difference for the children.

Collaboration, meetings and sparring

Besides the daily routine, there will be close collaboration on the children with parents, PPR and the Children and Family Department, both in meetings and in ongoing dialogue. In addition, your tasks include, among others:

• Work relationship- and resource-oriented with the students' social and emotional development.
• Support the students’ regulation, well-being and participation in both the school and leisure part.
• Plan and carry out pedagogical activities in both teaching and leisure parts.
• Work with psychoeducation, anxiety-reducing pedagogy and clear structure.

What you bring

We want you to think creatively, flexibly and newly, and you may have experience with starting something new. Not everything is predetermined in advance, and that very fact provides an opportunity to influence practice, contribute with your expertise and help create an offer that makes sense.

You can bring

• A teacher education with a relevant upper level or equivalent relevant continuing education.
• Perhaps you have experience with therapeutic work with children and young people - at least you have the interest.
• You can work with regulation strategies, anxiety-reducing and social training.
