Teachers of drawing and painting wanted

Would you like to share your joy of art and creativity with others?

Nordsjællands Aftenskole is looking for engaged instructors for new courses and workshops in drawing and painting.

We would like to expand our creative program and are therefore seeking both experienced instructors and artists who are eager to try their hand at adult education.

We are looking for instructors in particular in

Painting

• Aquarelle
• Acrylic painting
• Oil painting
• Gouache
• Abstract painting
• Portrait and figure painting
• Landscape and nature painting
• Color theory and composition
• Experimental painting techniques
• Mixed media and other combination techniques

Drawing

• Fundamental drawing
• Classical drawing
• Portrait drawing
• Croquis and figure drawing
• Perspective drawing
• Nature and botanical drawing
• Urban sketching
• Drawing with pencil, charcoal, ink or colored pencil
• Pastel
• Illustration and other drawing methods

If you have an idea for a course that isn’t on the list, we would also love to hear from you.

Who are you?

You have solid knowledge of your subject and a desire to convey it to adult participants.

You could for example be a visual artist, illustrator, designer, craftsman, or have an artistic or pedagogical education. But a specific educational background is not a requirement. Practical experience, professional competence and the ability to inspire and communicate are highly valued.

Teaching experience is an advantage, but not necessarily a prerequisite. We are happy to help new instructors get a good start.

The most important is that you

• are passionate about your subject
• want to teach adults
• can meet both beginners and more experienced participants
• can create a safe, inspiring and pleasant teaching environment
• are eager to help develop exciting new course ideas

Format of the courses

We are open to many different formats.

It could be for example

• an weekly class over several weeks
• a shorter course program
• an intensive weekend course
• a single workshop
• special topic courses or masterclasses

We plan the courses in collaboration with the individual instructor and try as much as possible to find times and teaching venues that suit both parties.

Teaching mainly takes place in the municipalities of Rudersdal, Hørsholm and Furesø.

Salary and employment

Nordsjællands Aftenskole is a folk high school in the evening program, and employment and remuneration are carried out according to the applicable rules for folk high school adult education.

The current wage is 330.74 DKK per teaching lesson + 12.5% holiday pay.

A teaching lesson comprises 45 minutes of instruction plus time for preparation, breaks and tasks related to the teaching. The preparation time is thus included in the salary.

Employment is on a lesson basis and tied to the agreed course program(s).
