Team Leader for Family and Youth Contact

About the job

As team leader you will be part of a trusted leadership team that, in addition to you, consists of two team leaders and the unit head of Family and Youth Contact.

You will also be part of a cross-cutting leadership community in the Family and Child Disability section, together with leaders from Child and Adolescent Counseling and Solbo Day Care Institution.

You will have staff and professional leadership responsibility for about 22 employees who work in a self-organized manner with a high level of professionalism and engagement. Your main task is to set professional direction and create good conditions for the employees' task solving with a view to professional quality, well-being, resources and development.

Your main tasks will be to

• lead and support your team in daily task solving with a focus on professional quality, prioritization and well-being
• assume professional leadership in close cooperation with your professional coordinator and employees, translate shared goals and professional direction into practice and follow up on and evaluate the work
• lead and support the team's professional coordinator, who conducts case reviews, and together follow up on professional quality, progression and need for support and development
• ensure clear communication and implementation of political, legal and professional decisions in practice
• hold team meetings and professional sparring
• conduct conversations with employees that include follow-up on well-being and professional case review
• conduct performance appraisal conversations (MUS)
• have an eye for competence development, professional progression and the binding work community in the team
• plan and carry out two biannual team-based development days
• actively participate in cross-cutting management forums, projects and operation-related development tasks

About us

Family and Youth Contact (FUC) is part of the Family and Child Disability section in Silkeborg Municipality.

We work with preventive and supportive interventions for children, young people and their families aged 0–18 years (23 years), always based on the Child Act and in close cooperation with Child and Adolescent Counseling.

We consist of about 65 engaged family and youth consultants, an administrative employee and a house assistant. Each team has a professional coordinator in a shared position that supports professional quality and development in the team.

Our citizens often have complex and combined challenges, e.g., social, emotional, behavioral or related to disabilities and mental health challenges.

We believe that children, young people and parents are experts in their own lives, and that our task is to support, empower and guide them – in close interaction with the family, the network and the professionals around the child.

About you

We are seeking a leader who has an eye for both professional quality, employees' well-being and the joint task. You may already have experience with people management or be ready to take your first step as a leader.

You have

• a pedagogical, social-work or similarly relevant education
• experience with leadership or a desire to develop as a leader
• knowledge of the field and collaboration with authorities, and preferably knowledge of and experience with the Child Act
• understanding of how quality and resources can go hand in hand
• ability to create psychological safety and well-being in a work field with high emotional demands
• strong communication skills and the ability to translate direction and decisions into concrete practice
