About the job

Center for Families, Youth & Early Intervention, Families

Do you want to be close to both people, professional practice and the difficult decisions?

We are seeking a team leader for the Social and Placement Team in the Family Department at the Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention.

As the team leader for the Social and Placement Team you will lead staff who every day work with some of the children, young people and families who need the most from us. It is an area with high professional complexity, great responsibility, and decisions that can have decisive significance in a child’s life.

Therefore, we are looking for you who can stand confidently in the authority task and be close to the people who need to succeed with it.

A part of something new

Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention is a new center in Lejre Municipality. We have gathered a number of efforts around children, youth and families because we want to create stronger connections between our professional fields and more coherence in the processes that children and families encounter.

The Family Department consists of the Family House and Early Intervention, the Special Team as well as the Social- and Placement Team.

As a team leader you will be part of the management of the Family Department together with the head of department and the other team leaders. You will together ensure a department with strong professionalism, a clear direction and an operation we have under control – but also be curious about what we can do better and differently.

We are in the process of building our new organization. This means that not everything is cast in concrete. On the other hand, there is real opportunity to influence how we should work and lead together.

You must be close to practice

We believe that good leadership in the authority area requires proximity.

You must know your team, know the task, and have a sense of where your leadership is needed. Some days it is about professional sparring in a difficult case. Other days about prioritization, economy, working environment, timeliness or about helping a team stay on course when there is a lot at stake.

You will have personnel- and professional leadership responsibility for the Social- and Placement Team and responsibility for ensuring coherence between high social-professional quality and stable operations.

This means, among other things, that you must

  • be close to the employees and available for professional sparring, prioritization and decisions
  • set a clear professional direction and support quality, systematic work and timeliness in the authority work
  • have an eye for the team’s tasks and workload and contribute to good prioritization of resources
  • create space for professional reflection, learning and development
  • focus on well-being, collaboration and a sustainable working environment
  • support good collaboration with children, young people and families and with the professional disciplines surrounding them
  • contribute to coherence and collaboration across the Family Department and the center.
  • participate in the managerial 24-hour on-call duty, which is rotated with your fellow managers.

We are looking for you who can stand firm without standing still

You do not need to know everything from day one. But you must have a solid social-work foundation and understand the authority task you are to lead.

We imagine that you have a relevant social-work education and experience from the authority area for children and youths. You have leadership experience – or have in some other way shown that you can take clear professional and organizational responsibility and are ready to step into a genuine leadership role.

The most important thing for us is how you approach the leadership task.

We hope you are a leader who dares to be clear, even when something is difficult. That you can make decisions without believing you always have all the answers. That you are genuinely curious about the employees’ professionalism, and that you can create calm, direction and followership in a daily life where priorities sometimes must be made quickly.

You must be able to move between the detail and the big picture. Between the concrete case and patterns across the organization. Between the interests of the child, the family, the employees, the professionalism, the legislation and the resources we have at our disposal.

And you must be willing to lead together with others.

For we do not believe that the most important challenges around children and families can be solved within one professional field or one organizational box.

What you get from us

You join an organization that is in motion, and where the ambitions for children, youth and families are high.

You will have a department head close to you and leadership colleagues with whom you will develop the Family Department. You will also become part of a new center where we work purposefully to create stronger connections between authority, treatment, early interventions, the youth area and the health-professional services.

We do not promise that the task is easy.

On the other hand, we promise that it is important.

And that you will have the opportunity to make a clear mark on both your team, the Family Department, the Center and the way we will going forward create coherence around children, youths and families in Lejre Municipality.
