About the job
Can you create direction, momentum and well-being in a strong professional team? Are you motivated by personnel management, operations control and by translating professionalism into concrete results? And would you like to contribute to ensuring a strong foundation for the protection of Denmark's groundwater and drinking water resource? Then you may be our new team leader in the Environmental Protection Agency's Office for Groundwater in Aalborg.
About the office
Groundwater is one of Denmark's most important natural resources. In the Office for Groundwater we work with groundwater mapping so we know where the groundwater is located, how it moves, and how vulnerable it is. This knowledge is crucial for targeted protection of our drinking water resource.
We work cross-disciplinary and in close collaboration with among others GEUS, municipalities, regions, water utilities and external consultants. It requires both strong professional competencies and the ability to collaborate and coordinate across.
Team Groundwater Mapping consists of about 15 employees with different professional backgrounds, including geologists, engineers and geographers. The team works with groundwater mapping projects in fields including geology, geophysics, hydrology, geochemistry and project management.
About the job
As team leader you will play a central role in creating good conditions for the employees and ensuring that the team's professionalism translates into efficient, robust and timely deliveries. Your task is to create direction, overview and progress in the team's total portfolio of tasks and to ensure high quality within the agreed framework.
You will be responsible for operations management, including
- Plan and prioritize tasks, projects, resources and capacity.
- Follow up on goals, forecasts, production and time usage.
- Ensure quality, progress and stable deliveries.
- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve workflows.
- Translate data and experiences into better and more efficient task-solving.
As a people leader you are close to the employees in daily work. You support well-being and development through ongoing dialogue, sparring and 1:1 conversations and are responsible for PULS and follow-up on development plans. You must create an environment where employees can use and develop their professionalism.
You work closely with the head of the office and the other team leader in the office and contribute to translating professional standards and strategic decisions into practice.
About you
You have a relevant master's degree and are motivated to lead people and create good conditions for a strong professional team to succeed. You do not need to be a specialist in groundwater mapping. Familiarity with the area is an advantage, but most important are your leadership, organizational and governance competencies.
We value that you
- Can create structure, prioritize and ensure progress in a complex portfolio of tasks.
- Can balance attention to employees, professionalism, operations and deliveries.
- Can translate goals and strategies into concrete practice and official actions.
- Thrive at the intersection of professionalism, administration and policy.
- Can navigate safely in a public authority organization; experience from the civil service is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Are strong in relationships, stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Communicate clearly and can create understanding and following around common goals.
- Are curious about IT and digital solutions that can support and streamline task-solving.
- Are an accessible, clear and developing leader who provides direction, sparring and constructive feedback.
We offer you g
An exciting leadership position with the opportunity to lead a professionally strong team and contribute to an important societal task: to ensure a strong professional basis for protecting Denmark's groundwater and drinking water resource.
You will become part of a workplace with high professionalism, flexibility and the possibility of working from home. We have flex time and are a commuter-friendly workplace. The everyday life is characterized by professional immersion, knowledge sharing and collaboration – combined with humor, camaraderie and informal coffee chat.
