Team Leader, Operations in Ilulissat

Are you looking for a developmental leadership role where you can leave your clear mark? We are seeking a present and hands-on Team Leader Operations for our department in Ilulissat. Motivated by leadership and ongoing optimization of daily operations, we have the framework to develop you as a person and leader.

Hands-on leader close to the operation

You will be responsible for the team in Ilulissat. The team currently counts 7 employees and it will be your task to coordinate the activities in Ilulissat, as well as ensure that the team delivers efficient terminal operations, good customer service and reaches the objectives.

In Ilulissat we have one of the newest freight terminals in Greenland. You will receive thorough training and quickly become part of the operation, as we believe that the best results are created by leaders who are “hands on,” and who through visibility with the employees and in the operation can quickly navigate and make the right decision.

Your core responsibilities

• Leadership and organization of your own team
• Hold departmental meetings and one-on-one meetings within the team
• Set the standard for good customer service
• Daily involvement in the operations and participate in the Ilulissat leadership team
• Implement IT solutions and tools and improve workflows in the operation
• Strengthen cross-functional collaboration across the organization across the towns

You will be successful in the role by contributing to ensuring an efficient terminal operation and practicing a hands-on leadership style that develops the team and employees. You should also build good relationships and good collaboration with the senior manager Aasiaat & Ilulissat and your colleagues in the rest of Greenland.

Skilled leadership profile with flair for optimization and operations

We are looking for an authentic relationship-building leader who can set direction and understand how to involve and delegate the prioritized tasks to the team.

It is not essential that you have many years of leadership experience, but rather that you are motivated by leadership and passionate about developing yourself and others. If you are familiar with daily life in terminal operations and forwarding, that is certainly an advantage.

You are good at sensing opportunities, have an eye for continuous improvements, and work in a structured way with the tasks. Additionally, you master Danish and English. If you speak Greenlandic, that is an advantage.
