About the job

Would you like to contribute to strengthening the understanding of the culture's significance in society – with a particular focus on sustainability? Then this job might be for you.

We are seeking a program manager who can gather and further develop our thematic work with a focus on green sustainability in the cultural sector. You will be responsible for creating coherence between knowledge production, development projects, capacity building of cultural actors, and dissemination in close collaboration with institute colleagues and external partners.

As our new program manager you will work daily in our premises in the heart of Roskilde. Here you will find skilled and ambitious colleagues as well as a work environment with high ceilings, easy smiles, and where you have great influence over your own task solving.

About the position

A project position in the work with sustainability in culture is coming to an end and must continue as a non-time-limited position integrated into the Cultural Analysis Institute's overall activities.

As part of the Cultural Analysis Institute's efforts regarding culture's significance for and in interaction with green sustainability, you will play a prominent role as responsible for our efforts, analyses and dissemination. You will also become part of an interdisciplinary community that works with partnerships and development of the institute.

Our new program manager must be able to document high professional quality within qualitative and quantitative analysis as well as knowledge production, have strong communication skills and an interest in the social value of culture – with particular knowledge of green sustainability and climate.

You will take on the overall professional and coordinating responsibility for the institute's green analysis program. This includes prioritizing tasks, ensuring progress and quality, and creating clear agreements on responsibilities and deliverables. You will lead projects and collaborative processes without personnel responsibility and participate in the institute's cross-cutting work with partnerships and development.

The work includes both the culture sector's own climate and environmental footprint and the arts' and culture's ability to engage citizens, create communities and open up visions of sustainable futures.

Your main areas of work

· Lead and develop the institute's green analysis program with responsibility for project descriptions, timelines, budget follow-up, partner coordination, deliveries and reporting.

· Establish and maintain partnerships with municipalities, cultural institutions, industry associations, knowledge environments and foundations

· Develop new project and financing opportunities.

· Organize mappings of green transition in the cultural sector in collaboration with colleagues, including surveys, interviews, cases and analyses of barriers, needs and actions.

· Translate analyses into industry descriptions, reports, recommendations and practical tools that culture actors and decision-makers can use in their work.

· Develop and implement municipal competence programs, workshops and networks that help cultural institutions move from ambition to concrete action plans and organizational anchoring.

· Develop collaborations between the culture and climate area, where cultural institutions support local climate goals, citizen engagement and sustainable everyday practices.

· Disseminate knowledge through presentations, debate moderation, articles, digital formats and press and represent the center in professional and cultural-political contexts.

Your professional profile

We are looking for an experienced project or program manager with in-depth knowledge of how the art and culture sector works and its framework. You can connect professional knowledge about green sustainability with the concrete reality of cultural institutions and create collaboration across different interests and disciplines.

We place special emphasis on the fact that you

· Have documented experience in leading projects with multiple partners and following them from idea and funding to implementation, evaluation and dissemination.

· Have worked with green transition in the art and culture sector and understand the interplay between artistic considerations, economy, operations, production and audience relations.

· Have experience with developing knowledge products based on qualitative and quantitative studies and can assess the data basis possibilities and limitations in collaboration with analysts.

· Can translate complex insights into clear recommendations, decision-making bases and practical tools for both small cultural actors and larger institutions.

· Have experience with facilitation, teaching or competence development and can support changes anchored in both leadership and staff.

· Have understanding of municipal decision-making processes and can bridge between cultural institutions, culture administrations, climate initiatives and civil society.

· Are a strong communicator in writing and speech and can engage both cultural staff, leaders, partners and the public.

It is an advantage if you have a relevant network in the cultural sector and knowledge of Nordic or international efforts for green cultural production. We also welcome knowledge of climate accounts and CO2 calculators, circular resource use, green procurement or sustainability management as well as perspectives such as planetary boundaries and the Doughnut economy.

Your background can be a relevant education in art and culture, project management, social sciences, communication or sustainability. Equally, competencies gained through practical experience are also relevant

How you will work

You work independently and in a structured way, follow agreements to the letter and create overview and security in collaboration. You are curious, take initiative and can prioritize between several concurrent tasks. You share knowledge and contribute to a daily life where professional sparring, presence and help to colleagues are a natural part of the work.

About us

At the Cultural Analysis Institute we are ambitious and sharp colleagues who work hard to clarify culture's role in several sectors and public agendas. We are both serious about our professional output and the input from colleagues. We are a small institute, so a shared team spirit and helping each other is a big part of everyday life.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with qualifications and applicable collective agreement – the position is expected to be a chief consultant position without managerial responsibilities.

The weekly working time is 37 hours.

We wish to fill the position by January 1, 2027.
