About the job
Are you the type who likes figuring out why the tech isn’t working – and even more enjoys getting it to work again?
Then we may have the apprentice/internship for you.
As an IT support apprentice at Antvorskov Barracks in Slagelse you will receive a diverse and hands-on education, combining school stays with a daily life close to users and technology. You will become part of a dedicated team where there is room for professional immersion, responsibility and good humor.
About us
At IT support we ensure IT works for our users – both when everything runs smoothly, and when it suddenly doesn’t.
IT support at Slagelse Barracks consists of five permanent staff – four IT supporters and a manager – who together provide IT support to around 2,000 employees. In addition, we regularly have 2-4 apprentices in our team.
We also assist colleagues elsewhere in the country, including in the Home Guard. Our tasks therefore span a broad range: from daily user support and troubleshooting to operating the local network, preparing and setting up IT equipment as well as administration of mobile phones and AV equipment.
In short: You won’t be sitting doing the same thing every day.
We believe in responsibility, collaboration and quality – and we place emphasis on a daily life with professionalism, engagement and good humor.
We offer
With us you get a 2-year IT support education, where theory and practice go hand in hand.
You will get to
- Switch between school terms and internship at the service location
- Gain practical experience with IT support in an organization with many different users and needs
- Work closely with experienced IT supporters who help you get started
- Learn to provide support, troubleshoot and solve technical challenges
- Receive more and more responsibility as your skills grow
- Get the opportunity over time to specialise in troubleshooting and adapting the Defence’s many different applications
In the beginning, the main thing is to learn. You will receive thorough instruction and gradually be equipped to solve the tasks more independently.
What will you be doing?
Your daily life can include
- Daily IT support – both telephone and on-site
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Preparation, installation and setup of hardware and software
- Administration of mobile devices and AV equipment
- User administration
- Help for colleagues when the technology misbehaves
You will find that some problems can be solved in minutes, while others require a bit more detective work. It’s part of what makes the job exciting.
About you
You have at minimum completed basic course 2 in the Data and Communications Education – or you will complete basic course 2 before the start of employment.
We imagine that you
- Have a 9th or 10th grade final exam
- Are reliable, responsible and motivated
- Care about delivering quality in your work
- Are service-minded, curious and engaged
- Take initiative and want to learn new things
- Are good at collaborating with both colleagues and users
- Can work independently when the task requires it
- Are ready to perform, even when it’s tough, and through passages and stairs
You don’t need to know everything about IT beforehand. The most important thing is that you want to learn, enjoy helping others and have the curiosity to find the solution when something is faulty.
Ready to get started?
If you can see yourself in a daily life where you both learn, solve problems, help people and become more skilled at IT every day, we look forward to hearing from you.
Grab the chance – and become our next IT support apprentice at Antvorskov Barracks.
Employment terms
Employment and pay are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organizations. The public sector area (OAO-S collective agreement) and the craftsmen and technicians' organizational agreement.
