About the job

Can you translate politics into engaging and understandable content on social media? And are you interested in how to make political messages live in the media? Then you might be the new student in the Ministry of Finance's press and communications unit.

About the position

You will become part of the press and communications unit, which is anchored in the minister and leadership secretariat in the Ministry of Finance. Our everyday life is built around the minister and the rest of the Ministry of Finance.

You will work in a political environment right in the heart of the Ministry of Finance, but where there is room to think creatively and test new ideas.

We tailor your tasks to your interests and qualifications, and you can, among other things, contribute to:

  • Keeping up with the day's media landscape
  • Making political messages come alive and easy to understand on social media
  • Creative content such as LinkedIn posts, videos and images for the ministry's and the minister's channels
  • Press work
  • Current and relevant news and articles for the ministry's intranet
  • Good and understandable answers to inquiries to the minister
  • Other current tasks within press and communications

You will join a team with other students, where we together strive to assemble a task portfolio with varied and developing tasks.

About you

We are looking for a student who is in the process of pursuing a relevant higher education (e.g., communication, media studies or another communications-related program), and who has a high professional standard, takes initiative and is able to act naturally in a political environment that is sometimes characterized by high speed.

You are a team player with good relational skills, which you are able to use in practice. You can keep an overview even in busy periods, and you are approachable and service-oriented.

At the same time you are thorough, detail-oriented and proactive in relation to your tasks. You must be able to handle confidential case files and work both independently and with internal and external partners. You must have technical flair and a sharp pen.

You have familiarity with or a desire to work with image and video editing as well as graphic work. We primarily work with Adobe programs, so it is a plus if you have prior knowledge of these.

You appreciate having good colleagues and contribute to a good working climate. Most importantly, you are eager to learn. We provide thorough onboarding, you will get a mentor and we prioritize our students' development.

It is a condition that you are exceptionally reliable and meet deadlines and agreements. You must be open to some evening work, as you will participate in a shift arrangement with the other students in the office.

About us

In the Ministry of Finance, a wide range of tasks are performed, contributing to giving the government the best possible basis for making central political decisions and for pursuing sound economic policy.

The Minister and Leadership Secretariat consists of the minister's secretariat, the political secretariat, the secretary to the permanent secretary, and the Ministry of Finance's press and communications unit.

In the Minister and Leadership Secretariat you will have a job with engaged and skilled colleagues. With a daily life built around the minister, the secretary to the permanent secretary and the rest of the Ministry of Finance's leadership, the tempo is usually high. In the office we therefore place great emphasis on good collaboration, high spirits, and helping each other – especially in peak periods.

We also place great emphasis on it being fun and pleasant to go to work. Therefore we also talk about many other things in the office besides the tasks at hand, and we regularly prioritize organizing various social activities with each other in the office.

Employment terms

There will be periods of high workload where we expect flexibility from you. We are, however, also very flexible when it comes to exam periods and vacations. On average you can expect a workweek of about 15 hours, arranged in agreement with your closest colleagues and with consideration to your studies.

You will, together with the other students, help with media monitoring, which is prepared every day, both in the evening and in the morning – also on weekends and holidays.

You are employed under the joint agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The State Area (OAO joint agreement) and the organizational agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Assistants and IT Employees (HK) in the state. It is a requirement that you are a student in good standing to be employed as a student assistant.

It is a condition of employment that you can be security cleared to the appropriate level and subsequently maintain the security clearance throughout your employment period.

The employment area is the Ministry of Finance with related institutions, currently the Ministry of Finance's department, State Administration, State IT, the Economic Council, and the Employee and Competence Authority.
