About the job

The non-profit institution Stefanshjemmet is seeking as of 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter an employee working 30-37 hours on average per week.

Stefanshjemmet is a residential and employment offering for people with acquired brain injury and/or severe physical disabilities.

There are 10 residents on a department, and they have an acquired brain injury. On the department there are about 15 permanent staff with diverse backgrounds and professional skills to provide care, support, and activities for the residents in accordance with the Social Services Act.

At Stefanshjemmet we value the interdisciplinary environment and have around 130 employees. The main groups of staff consist of SOSU assistants, pedagogues and occupational and physiotherapists as well as care assistants.

It may also be that you are educated as a SOSU helper or hospital helper or have a lot of relevant experience from the care and welfare sector that gives you good competencies for this position.

We are looking for an employee who

· is passionate about the field and the residents

· wants to spend time with the residents during the day in activities and socializing and help create a good everyday life for the residents

· is able to take time for presence with the residents and appreciates their life stories

· is engaged and good at seeing opportunities

· is outgoing, proactive and takes initiative

· sees the value in documentation and sharing of knowledge. We use the documentation system Modulus.

· Has a contagious mood and a healthy and good attitude towards work and collaboration.

As an employee at Stefanshjemmet it is important to us that you are professionally proud, engaged and have your heart in the right place and a view of humanity that aligns with Stefanshjemmet's values. The residents' self-determination and dignity are very important to us.

Daily life offers many exciting professional challenges and ethical dilemmas, good colleagues, a good working environment and high spirits.

The work on the departments is based on the residents' needs and possibilities, and we are increasingly working with the KRAP model's acknowledging and resource-oriented approach, as well as our neuro-pedagogical approach, along with values and ethics.

All staff participate in the work with care tasks, housing support and activities for the residents and contribute to the common tasks with their respective professional backgrounds. We are looking for a dedicated employee who wants to participate in the care, support and activities for the residents. We work on developing the department both mono-disciplinary and interdisciplinary, so that competencies and knowledge are utilized as best as possible.

You must be prepared for a job where you need good physical fitness as well as the ability to work in a place where you are occasionally emotionally challenged in your work.

If you are hired with us, an introduction program will be prepared for you as part of your training in the house.

We look forward to receiving your application and hope you can see yourself in the tasks outlined above.
