The VIA canteen at Campus Holstebro is looking for a service assistant

VIA University College, the canteen at Campus Holstebro is seeking a service employee for cashier duties, delivery of meeting refreshments, as well as various small tasks in the kitchen with employment starting 01.01 2027. The position is 30.00 hours per week, and is a permanent position.

The working hours are primarily between 7:00-13:30 with a few afternoon, weekend or evening shifts.

The canteen's vision is to inspire and excite our customers with the food we serve based on the official climate-based dietary guidelines. We work purposefully for a more sustainable canteen operation with a strong focus on reducing our CO2 footprint and we have the silver ecological dining mark.

We are helping to create a good study environment on campus, where communities bring out the best in everyone. We support the well-being of the students, and we value a good working environment. We have a good tone in the kitchen and always a smile for our customers.

The canteen at Campus Holstebro prepares food for students across 8 programs as well as guests and staff; in total about 1600 students and 200 staff.

In the kitchen we are 9 staff members with different backgrounds.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a friendly and smiling employee who can create a welcoming and professional experience, where guests feel welcome, seen and valued. You should be able to meet everyone with presence, service and quality, so the canteen becomes a natural meeting point on campus

Your competencies

• You have a positive attitude and are committed to delivering good service to our customers
• You have a good sense of order, work in a structured way and have a good overview.
• You can work independently and responsibly as well as prioritise your own tasks.
• You are a team player and actively and consciously contribute to a good working environment
• You have a ready smile and are good at communicating
• You are reliable in attendance.
• You have a desire to work with a focus on sustainable canteen operation.
• Knowledge of social media and computers
• Experience from canteen work or catering would be an advantage, but the most important is a positive mindset and a willingness to learn.

Your tasks will include among others

• Handle cashier duties
• Print orders
• Pack meeting refreshments, as well as deliver and collect meeting refreshments to/from rooms on campus
• Be responsible for ensuring the canteen always looks neat and clean, and ensure restocking of refreshments and refrigeration displays
• Assist with setup for events
• Help in the kitchen
• Fetch used serviceware on campus, and supervise dishwashing in collaboration with the rest of the team
• Create posts for the canteen on our social media

SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Salary and employment terms follow the joint agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations as well as the organizational agreement for kitchen helpers in the state between the Ministry of Finance and FOA.

The workplace is Gl. Struervej 1, 7500 Holstebro.
