Two pedagogues for Solhøj's middle group – with time for preparation and colleagues to develop professionalism with

Do you want to be close to children's play and development – and have time to prepare, discuss and develop your pedagogical practice? At Solhøj you get both. Here, preparation is a fixed part of everyday life, and you will have pedagogue colleagues close by with whom you can share ideas, questions and everyday challenges.

We are looking for two qualified pedagogues for our middle group, which consists of children aged about 2 to 4 years. Together with your colleagues you will create a daily life where the children meet secure adults, gain the courage to explore, and experience that they are part of the community.

Your professionalism must be felt in the children's everyday life

We are focused on how our pedagogical choices make a difference in both the planned activities and everyday small situations. With us you will, among other things:

• create secure relationships and support the children's play, curiosity and development
• work with the children in smaller groups, with a focus on quality over quantity
• organize activities and learning environments based on the needs and interests of the children in the group
• help the children into communities and create different opportunities to participate
• follow the children's wellbeing and development and adjust practice together with the colleagues
• collaborate with the parents about what matters for their child.

You will have the opportunity to bring your own professional interests into play. Perhaps you are passionate about language, motor skills, nature or music. We are curious about what you will contribute, and how we together can translate it into good experiences for the children.

Preparation is part of the job

Good pedagogy requires time to think, plan and follow up. Therefore you will get

• scheduled time for tasks outside of children's times
• a fixed preparation day every four weeks
• a mentor who helps you settle into the house and the tasks
• close professional sparring with your pedagogical colleagues
• opportunities for relevant continuing education, for example language guidance training, courses or diploma modules.

It gives you the opportunity to qualify your ideas, prepare the parental collaboration and continue working on what you and your colleagues notice in the group of children.

A house with open doors and different professional perspectives

Solhøj is an integrated day-care institution in Hedehusene for children from 0–6 years with both general and special groups. Many parents want a place for their child with us, and we have a waiting list. We value that trust, and we work every day to meet it through presence, professionalism and close collaboration with the families.

We adapt the organization to the children in the group and are in the process of changing from two nursery groups and one kindergarten group to one nursery group, one middle group and one kindergarten group.

We have open doors between the rooms and collaborate across the building. You will become part of a staff group with 11 pedagogues, three pedagogue assistants, paid student teachers, a kitchen supervisor and a pedagogical leader.

Working with different groups of children gives us knowledge and perspectives that we use across the house. We ask each other for advice, share experiences and explore together what can help the individual child and the child community move forward.

Outside we have a large playground, a sports field, a bonfire area, a herb garden and our own small forest. Here there is room to explore, move your body and follow the children's curiosity.

We are looking for you who want to contribute and develop together with us

You are a qualified pedagogue and can articulate your professional reflections and translate them into action. You meet the children with care and curiosity and have an eye for both the individual child's needs and the community the child is part of.

You take responsibility for the collaboration with colleagues and parents. You share your observations and ideas, ask when you are in doubt, and are open to others' perspectives.

You may be newly graduated or have several years of experience. We are focused on your professionalism, your commitment and your desire to be part of developing everyday life at Solhøj.

Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles. We will obtain a child and criminal background check as well as references in connection with the employment.

The position is 37 hours per week with start on 1 December or by agreement.
