About the job

Would you like to make a difference regarding physical and digital security in the hospitals in the Central Denmark Region (Region Midtjylland) and work with systems that are essential in patient treatment and the clinic's workflows? Can you contribute to ensuring that the hospitals' medical-technical equipment complies with the requirements of the NIS2 regulation? Can you foster good dialogue and coordinate across actors in the region who work with security?

The Procurement & Medical Technology Department in Region Midtjylland is looking for two new medical-technical advisors who can complement each other and the team within the same area of responsibility. One profile may be strong in the overall, theoretical and structuring work, while the other may have a more practical and technical approach. The tasks will largely overlap, and we therefore place emphasis on finding two candidates with different strengths and interests who together can form a strong whole.

Responsibilities

You will become part of the area “Quality, Security and Systems”, which today consists of 11 medical-technical advisors and physicists. You will specifically work with a group of employees who already work with medical-technical systems and equipment, where there are special requirements for network, information and data security.

Together with the area manager, the area is among other things responsible for ensuring that the medical-technical equipment at the region's hospitals complies with a wide range of laws and standards. It should contribute to high quality as well as stable and secure operation of the equipment for the benefit of the hospitals’ patients and staff.

Since work on security requires close collaboration across stakeholders in the region, it is important that you are good at creating dialogue and viewing the task solution, among other things, around NIS2 from a holistic perspective. You must be able to prioritize the most important initiatives and take a pragmatic approach to the task.

As the positions are newly established, you will have the opportunity to partly shape the content yourself and partly connect the position’s content with other tasks within the department’s functional area.

The tasks should cover the following

  • Act as an advisor for primarily network-connected medical-technical systems and medical-technical OT equipment with a view to implementing and complying with, among others, the NIS2 Regulation.
  • Professionally coordinate across the medical-technical area regarding NIS2 and security, which includes advising on acquisitions and operational tasks at the region's medical-technical workshops.
  • Contribute to maturity measurements according to IEC-62443, registration and “asset management” around medical-technical equipment as well as a GAP analysis with subsequent follow-up and action.
  • Ensure effective governance and continuous development of our medical-technical systems as well as maintenance of the necessary system documentation.

As this is a strengthening of the security efforts, there will also be a need to

  • define processes for planning and prioritization and ensure ongoing coordination, implementation and follow-up on security initiatives.
  • develop and implement user-friendly and consistent processes, tools and guidelines across the organization, so that they support employees in the practical compliance with security requirements and documentation.
  • ensure clear responsibilities and role allocation and support the organization in translating security requirements into concrete tasks with clearly defined responsibilities and fixed deadlines.

Competencies

You have a relevant engineering or natural science education, so you can quickly acquire a basic understanding of medical-technical equipment and systems it includes. You have a strong interest in relevant legislation and regulations and preferably some experience with this. Experience with implementing and operating network-connected medical-technical systems, preferably in a coordinating role, is an advantage but not a requirement.

Regarding personal qualifications, we place great emphasis on you being outgoing, curious and collaborative. You work in a structured manner and are able to prioritize between multiple simultaneous tasks and projects, while ensuring an overview and progress.

In addition to collaborating with your closest colleagues, you also want to work with suppliers and other staff in the region and have flair for navigating and communicating in the different cultures represented in healthcare.

You have a driving license.
