Do you want to work with specialized social psychiatry, dual diagnosis and recovery-oriented rehabilitation?

At Bostedet Brovst we are seeking two qualified social educators for permanent positions. We are looking for colleagues who want to use their pedagogical expertise in working with adult residents with severe mental illness and complex support needs.

With us, relationships, professional judgement and collaboration are crucial. We work closely with the citizens' everyday life to create coherence, security and opportunities for development.

You will be part of an interdisciplinary workplace where we place emphasis on professional sparring, supervision and competence development.

About us

Bostedet Brovst is part of the Area for Social Psychiatry in the Region of Nordjylland. We are a highly specialized social-psychiatric residence with space for 20 residents and a staff of nearly 25 employees.

We work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative with a focus on the citizens' hope, wishes, resources and opportunities to master their own lives.

Our work is based on close collaboration between social educators, nurses, social and health care assistants and other professionals. We have different professional perspectives, but one common task: to support the individual citizen in gaining the greatest possible influence on their own life and to create a meaningful everyday life.

What does a workday look like?

The everyday life is varied and includes both planned efforts and situations that require professional assessment and flexibility.

As a social educator, you will, among other things, work to create secure relationships, support citizens in managing their everyday life and translate individual goals into concrete pedagogical actions.

You can, for example, support a citizen in creating structure in daily life, participate in a motivational conversation, accompany to an appointment or collaborate with colleagues to prevent and handle difficult situations.

The work also includes professional observations, documentation, follow-up on individual goals and collaboration with, for example, treatment psychiatry, general practitioners and municipal authorities.

Our professional approach

We work with recovery-oriented rehabilitation as a common professional foundation.

We use, among other things, Open Dialogue and Motivational Interviewing and work with Low Arousal, coping charts, social skills training and relationship-pedagogical approaches.

We work systematically with goals, sub-goals and documentation, while tailoring the interventions to the individual citizen's current needs and wishes.

Our shared value base is the Region Nordjylland ITOP values: Influence, Trust, Integrity and Professionalism.

With us you get

  • An introductory program where you are prepared for working with the target group and our professional approaches.
  • Possibility for supervision, professional sparring and competence development.
  • A cross-disciplinary work environment where different professional backgrounds contribute to the joint effort.
  • Possibility to use and further develop your pedagogical competencies in working with complex issues.
  • An workplace where we work with common professional frameworks, reflection and development of practice.

The target group

Bostedet Brovst is a social-psychiatric residence for adults aged 18–72 years.

The citizens have severe mental illnesses and complex psychosocial difficulties. Many also have challenges with substances, somatic health problems or significant difficulties with social relationships and daily life. Some citizens also have legal restrictions.

The citizens require substantial support, care and professional effort around the clock. The support needs vary and require both individual consideration, professional systematic work and close collaboration between professional groups.

We have 18 places for temporary stays under the Social Services Act § 107 and 2 places for longer stays under § 108.

The work requires patience, perseverance and the ability to see resources and possibilities, even when development occurs in small steps.
