We are seeking two social educators or healthcare-qualified colleagues.

That place is Astrupparken. A day- and residential facility where 30 adults live, distributed across 5 groups. Half of the residents use wheelchairs, and many communicate through signals other than verbal. Here we work from the approach of Recovery-Oriented Rehabilitation, where each person’s dreams, hopes and potential are in focus.

About the job

At Astrupparken 30 adults with lasting physical and psychological developmental handicaps live in 5 houses. We have 12 places in the internal day service at the same address, where residents are offered activities tailored to their needs, while others prefer to go to other units during the day.

We work for people who need help and support with all daily tasks. For some this involves help with personal care; for others guidance in everyday tasks. Our task is largely to identify the ‘spark’ (signs and signals with both body and voice) that show what the individual needs or is motivated for. This applies both to alone and in relation to communicating and participating in a community with others. We work from Recovery-Oriented Rehabilitation.

You will work together with 45 colleagues at Astrupparken in the Residential Facility. In Astrupparken we work for all residents, but have a primary connection to one of the houses.

We have a fixed monthly program with activities. Some are aimed at a youth environment, others at sensory experiences. Some foster community across, such as brunch, cinema club and Friday bar. Therefore we need you who are action-oriented and passionate about developing the pedagogical practice.

Your tasks will include, among others

• To support the residents in their everyday life and development based on the approach of Recovery-Oriented Rehabilitation and LA2u as a method
• To work with sensory integration, communication, neuro-pedagogy and understanding residents’ signals.
• To contribute to the professional community with reflection and documentation.
• To undertake health-related tasks such as medication handling.

Who are you?
