About the job

Do you want to help strengthen nursing within cancer treatment or specialized palliative care – and at the same time be part of a close professional collaboration across?

We are looking for two specialty lead nurses

  • one for the Inpatient Ward for Cancer Treatment
  • one for the Inpatient Ward for Palliative Care

The positions are 80/20 roles with 80% clinical work in mixed shifts and 20% allocated to the specialty lead function.

Two specialties – a shared professional responsibility

You will have a special responsibility to maintain and develop nursing professional quality within your own specialty. At the same time you will become part of a close collaboration with the other specialty lead nurse, where you together shall create professional coherence, share knowledge and experiences, and develop common approaches where it makes sense.

For us, strong specialties are a prerequisite for strong multidisciplinary collaboration. Therefore you must both have an eye for your own specialty’s professional ideas and for the common professional community – always with the patient at the center.

Your role

You will become a visible professional resource close to the clinical practice. Your tasks will among others be to:

  • support professional development and translate knowledge, evidence, and experience into practice
  • identify development needs and drive relevant professional development and improvement initiatives
  • plan and conduct training, professional sparring, and competence development
  • contribute to the development of instructions, workflows and patient pathways in collaboration with development nurse and quality coordinator
  • collaborate with the other specialty lead, clinical supervisors, other key professional personnel and management.

The 80% of the working time is clinical work, where you participate in patient care on equal terms with your colleagues and work in mixed shifts. In this way you maintain a close connection to the patients, the clinical everyday life, and the issues that should underpin development.

We are looking for you who

  • are a licensed nurse with solid experience in either cancer nursing or specialized palliative care
  • have a master's or diploma in nursing would be an advantage, not a requirement
  • have strong pedagogical and communicative skills and can convey complex professional material in an engaging and practical way
  • can create learning and professional reflection together with colleagues
  • work in a structured, independent and development-oriented way
  • can collaborate and create followership around professional development.

It is not a requirement that you have experience as a specialty lead. We value professional curiosity, engagement and willingness to take responsibility for the development of your specialty.

IT skills at user level are expected.

We offer

  • an 80/20 position where you both retain your clinical anchoring and have time for specialty professional development
  • a clear professional function with the opportunity to influence the development of your specialty
  • a close collaboration with the other specialty lead nurse
  • opportunity to work with professional development, education, quality and competence development
  • a specialized professional environment with focus on patients, high professionalism and a good working environment.

We are looking for two nurses who will be strong in each of their own specialties and at the same time help develop a shared professional foundation for our patients and colleagues.
