Two teachers for permanent positions sought at the Special Education Center Præstegårdsskolen

At the Special Education Center we are seeking two qualified teachers with employment as of January 1, 2027.

The Special Education Center is located as an independent unit on the Præstegårdsskolen estate. We are a segregated offering to pupils in Esbjerg Municipality with extensive physical and mental disabilities. We have about 120 students from 0th to 10th grade. Each class houses between 5 and 10 students and the teaching is carried out by a fixed team.

You must therefore be specially educated and have the desire to work with children with physical and mental difficulties. If you have competencies within the special educational field, that would be an advantage, but not a requirement.

At the Special Education Center we are about 90 staff; teachers, pedagogues, pedagogical assistants, teaching aides, vision consultant, professionals with competencies in speech and hearing and augmentative and alternative communication, as well as a therapy team consisting of physiotherapists and an occupational therapist.

Salary and employment terms are set according to the applicable collective agreement, including the provisions regarding local salary formation . In addition, depending on a concrete assessment, qualification and/or function allowances can be agreed depending on the content of the position and your experience and qualifications.

When employed in the position, a criminal record must be submitted, and a child protection clearance will be obtained.
