Youth Advisory Service is seeking - A strong professional youth advisor with a special function.

Do you want to help ensure high professional quality, support daily operations and be a central sparring partner for both management and colleagues in the authority area within the Children’s Act?

Do you have strong social and legal competencies, experience with the youth area and a desire to contribute to the development of practice, workflows and professional direction? Then you might be the person we are looking for at the Youth Advisory Service.

About us

The Youth Advisory Service works with youths between 15 and 22 years who need special support under the Children’s Act and relevant social legislation. Our common goal is to support the youths' path toward education, employment and as much self-reliance as possible.

We work with a broad target group, including youths with disabilities, mental health challenges, social problems, substance misuse issues and youths at risk of crime.

The Youth Advisory Service is part of Education 2 and consists of approximately 60 social workers, youth advisors with a special function, a project group and three department heads.

We are a department in development where professional quality, cooperation and development are highly prioritized.

About the position

As a youth advisor with a special function you will play a central role in supporting both the professional quality in the authority work and the management’s task execution. You report to one of the department heads in the Youth Advisory Service, but without personnel responsibility.

You will become an important professional key figure, contributing to translating legislation, practice and political decisions into a well-functioning authority effort, while also supporting the management with professional analyses, quality assurance and development tasks.

Your main tasks

Professional support for the advisers

• Provide professional sparring to youth advisors, particularly in the area for youths with disabilities.
• Be a knowledge source in complex and principled cases.
• Support colleagues in the use of ICS and other professional methods.
• Contribute to high quality case handling through sparring, guidance and side-by-side training.
• Plan and conduct onboarding of new employees.

Involuntary cases

• Act as knowledge responsible for involuntary cases.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and coordination of case processes.
• Participate in committee meetings and support advisers before, during and after the handling of involuntary cases.
• Contribute to the preparation of recommendations, including when decisions are made by the chairperson.

Quality assurance and development

• Prepare and maintain workflows, procedures and professional guidelines.
• Carry out thematic inspections and contribute to follow-up on results.
• Identify development needs and support the implementation of new initiatives.
• Contribute to consistent practice and strengthened professional quality across the department.

Support for the management

• Be a close professional sparring partner for the department management.
• Contribute with professional presentations, analyses and assessments for use in managerial decisions.
• Support management in implementing legislation, political decisions and organizational changes.
• Contribute to follow-up on quality, operations, goal attainment and development initiatives.
• Contribute to coordination and follow-up on cross-cutting projects, efforts and collaboration interfaces.
• Support management in work with competence development, professional learning and development of the authority area.

Collaboration

• Participate in internal and external meetings.
• Ensure close collaboration across departments, administrations and external partners.

About you

• Is educated as a social worker, preferably supplemented with relevant continuing education.
• Has solid experience from the authority area and in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Has experience with youths with disabilities and complex social problems.
• Has strong legal and social work competencies.
• Can translate professional knowledge into practice and communicate it to others.
• Thrives in a role where you work both independently and in close collaboration with management and colleagues.
• Has an eye for organization, quality, operations and development.
• Works in a structured way and can create overview in complex processes.

Salary and employment terms The position is paid according to the current collective agreement with an expected salary level in pay grade 38 with allowances according to experience and qualifications—corresponding to 40,284.00,- to 41,400,- depending on experience and qualifications.
